We were there during Ian and the place was pretty ripped up. I'm seeing it's been renovated. Any insight on what that means? Rooms or just me paint in the lobby?
The Holiday Inn on the Beach in Daytona Beach has undergone significant renovations since Hurricane Ian caused damage. While many hotels in the area focus on superficial updates like painting, the renovation at this location appears to have involved more substantial upgrades, including both the interior and exterior of the hotel.
In general, this renovation should mean a more comfortable and pleasant stay with improvements to both the rooms and common areas. While it may not have been a complete overhaul of the entire property, it likely addresses the damage from Ian and brings the hotel closer to a more modern and refreshed standard.
As with any renovation, it's always a good idea to check recent reviews to confirm the extent of the improvements and whether there are any ongoing projects or disruptions. However, the overall renovation should definitely be an upgrade from the condition you experienced during the storm.
