Florida Resident Tickets

Hello all,

The Disney website suggests we purchase our park tickets as soon as we have our dates, so we have our choice of parks.

My concern is that I read that Disney may release special offers for those same tickets, and the tickets are non exchangeable /non refundable.

Some in our group are Florida residents and some are not. So either way there will be price differences off the bat.

So my question is, do I wait a bit in hopes that they offer any promotions as the date comes closer or do I buy them now?

All the offers out now do not apply.

Thank you

When it comes to Disney Florida Resident tickets, there is a balance to strike between securing your preferred park dates and hoping for future promotions. Here are the key considerations:

Firstly, Florida Resident tickets do often have special promotions or discounts released periodically. However, these offers can be limited, and they typically apply only to specific ticket types or travel windows. If your planned dates are firm, waiting could risk losing availability at your preferred parks on those days.

Secondly, Disney tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. This means if you buy now and a better promotion comes out later, you cannot retroactively apply it to your existing tickets. You would either need to purchase additional tickets at the promotional rate (if available) or miss out.

For groups with a mix of Florida residents and non-residents, pricing differences will always exist. Non-resident tickets will be more expensive than Florida Resident tickets, and promotions may not be uniform across both groups.

  • If securing specific park dates is critical (especially for popular times like holidays or weekends), purchasing early is safer to guarantee entry.
  • If your dates are flexible and you can risk potential sell-outs, you might monitor Disney’s website for Florida Resident offers, but be aware that promotions are unpredictable and limited.
  • Consider the possibility of partial purchases: for instance, Florida residents buy their tickets now, and non-residents monitor for promotions if they are less concerned about park availability.

In summary, if your priority is locking in the exact parks and dates, purchasing now is the safest approach. If maximizing savings is more important and you are willing to take some risk, you can wait and monitor for promotions—but be prepared for limited availability and higher demand for your preferred days.
