Visit the Wind-Moving Stone, a natural wonder on Dongshan Island. Take a walk around the surrounding area to explore the coastal scenery. Enjoy the unique geological features and take photos of the stone as it appears to be moved by the wind. This site is perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.

Located on a cliff at the east gate of Dongshan Ancient City, the Dongshan Wind-Moving Stone, a natural wonder, has long been a source of pride and treasure for the island's residents and a beloved tourist attraction. Hailed by ancient scholars as "the world's most remarkable stone," it is the most unique of the more than 60 wind-moving stones in China, renowned for its uniqueness, precariousness, and sheer height.
It has now become a landmark of Dongshan Island. People often say that visiting southern Fujian and not visiting Dongshan is a shame, and visiting Dongshan and not visiting the Dongshan Wind-Moving Rock is an even greater regret. Indeed, this enormous rock stands tall on a steep cliff. It stands 4.37 meters high, 44.47 meters wide, and 4.46 meters long, weighing approximately 200 tons. Its pointed top and rounded bottom resemble a fairy peach, majestically "resting" on a rising rock that slopes toward the sea. The contact surface between the two rocks is only a dozen square centimeters. When strong winds blow, the rock sways gently. If someone lies on their back on the rock and pushes with their feet, the rock will also sway, but it won't fall.
Standing beneath the Dongshan Wind-Moving Stone, visitors experience a thrilling sensation, marveling at its wonders. Hence its name, "Wind-Moving Stone," and the poem that goes, "The wind blows a stone, and it moves with a mighty force." The stone bears an inscription from Lu Zhenfei, the governor in the autumn of the Ming Dynasty (1648), which reads, "Three Loyal Ministers of Tongshan: Huang Daozhou, Chen Shu, and Chen Shiqi." On the right side of the stone are the four large characters "Dongbi Xinghui" written by Xiashan Jushi of the Ming Dynasty. To the left, a stone tablet bears a poem inscribed by Cheng Chaojing, the Ming Dynasty naval commander.
The subtropical monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
Dongshan's Wind-Moving Stone has been sung by numerous luminaries throughout history. For example, Ming Dynasty poet Wen Sanjun composes a poem: "This stone is a star, radiant in the heavens; it's not the wind that shakes the stone, but the wind. The roots of the clouds rest directly on the locust tree, and the moon pavilion is a ladder to the eight wild geese." Therefore, visitors are always struck by the beauty of this stone, and when they fully grasp its beauty, they often take a photo. The Wind-Moving Stone and the surrounding scenery complement each other, making it no wonder that literati and poets have expressed their admiration for it, saying, "The scenery here is uniquely beautiful."
It is recommended to play for about 2 hours.
