Hotel and food suggestions.

Hello! Looking for hotel suggestions within walking distance to Caesars Superdome and hopefully it'll be near the tourist/ food places because I really dont want to rent a car. Will have a 5 year old with me and dont want to drag around a car seat. Not looking for the most luxurious hotel, going mainly for the game and food, but also not staying in a dump either. Love seafood but dont eat pork. Beignets are a must lol first time coming. Thanks to all!

Visiting New Orleans for the first time with a young child and focusing on the Superdome and local food is very doable without a car. Staying centrally in the downtown or Central Business District (CBD) will give you walking access to the Superdome, restaurants, and some classic tourist attractions.

Hotel Suggestions Near Caesars Superdome

  • Drury Plaza Hotel New Orleans: Located within a 10-minute walk to the Superdome, family-friendly, clean, mid-range, offers breakfast and evening snacks.
  • Hyatt Regency New Orleans: About a 5–10 minute walk to the Superdome, modern rooms, great for families, and close to the French Quarter for food and sightseeing.
  • The Royal Sonesta on Bourbon Street: Slightly farther (15–20 minutes’ walk) but gives you a lively atmosphere, convenient for tourist walking tours, and near the French Quarter’s restaurants.
  • Omni Royal Orleans: Another walkable option in the French Quarter, comfortable and reputable without being overly luxurious.

Food and Dining Recommendations

  • Café du Monde: The classic stop for beignets and café au lait — easy to access on Decatur Street near the French Quarter.
  • GW Fins: High-quality seafood with daily fresh catches — they have non-pork options and great service for families.
  • Red Fish Grill: Located on the Riverwalk, excellent seafood with child-friendly seating.
  • Acme Oyster House: Casual seafood spot, can order oysters, fish dishes, and other seafood items without pork.
  • Drago’s Seafood Restaurant: Famous for charbroiled oysters and other seafood — good for a sit-down meal that is easy for families.

Tips for a First-Time Visit With a Child

  • Walking is convenient for this area; you won’t need a car, and you can use rideshare if you want to go a bit farther.
  • Bring a small stroller if your child gets tired walking; some hotels allow them to check it in for short breaks.
  • Plan for breaks at cafés or parks — Woldenberg Riverfront Park is near the French Quarter and kid-friendly.
  • Try to schedule early meals to avoid crowds, especially for beignets and popular seafood spots.
  • Most restaurants in the CBD and French Quarter have options for kids, and many seafood dishes can be customized to avoid pork.

By staying near the Superdome and the French Quarter, you can easily walk to the game, enjoy classic New Orleans food experiences, and soak up the city without needing a car. This plan keeps your weekend relaxed while letting you hit the must-do sights and flavors of New Orleans.
