Hi Fellow Travellers,
For those in the know, I would love to pick your brains about itinerary ideas. I (along with boyfriend) will be traveling into LIH for 3 nights on a Monday in November, arriving around noon. We'll be staying 10 minutes inland from Poipu Beach for 3 nights - with an afternoon departure back out of LIH. So, most of the afternoon and evening on arrival day, and a few hours ahead of check in on departure day. Then 2 full days in between.
Looking for suggestions of the best of the island in early November this year. We definitely want to kayak, so any suggestions for the best place/time for that is appreciated.
Is snorkeling good this time of year? Again any tips on when and where to go.
We also would like a hike but nothing too strenuous, 5-6 miles would be fine but I'm on vacation so nothing too crazy. I don't want to fall off any cliffs.
Would be willing to spring for one excursion if it were amazing. Something like Captain Andy's is tempting, but we are trying to keep to a budget.
Same goes with food, we have breakfast included and provably gonna eat simple but if there's some restaurant of food cart that we MUST stop at, please tell me.
Thanks in advance to anyone that has any nuggets of info to toss at me, I've also been grateful for out TA forum :)
Cheers and safe travels everybody.
With three nights near Poipu Beach and two full days in November on Kauai, you can enjoy a mix of water activities, scenic hikes, and local cuisine without feeling rushed. Early November is generally a good time for kayaking and snorkeling, though some northern beaches may have higher surf and currents. Staying on the south shore gives you calmer waters for beginners.
Arrival Day (Afternoon/Evening):
Day 1 – South Shore Exploration & Kayaking:
Day 2 – Scenic Drive & Hike:
Departure Day (Morning/Early Afternoon):
In general, November offers calmer south shore waters, good snorkeling opportunities at Poipu Beach, and comfortable temperatures for hiking. Prioritize early morning or late afternoon for outdoor activities to avoid midday heat and possible rain showers. Local food carts and casual restaurants are plentiful, and carving out one special excursion, like a Napali Coast boat tour, will give you a memorable highlight without blowing the budget.
