Views of lighthouse from S. Beach Road?
I was hoping to get some photos of the lighthouse as we were on the way to Coral Cove park. Are there any good views as we pass the lighthouse without having to pay admission (not able to do the lighthouse tour). Thank you.
Yes, you can get some nice photos of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse without paying admission. While the lighthouse itself is on the grounds of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, there are several spots along South Beach Road and nearby public areas that offer clear views for photography.
Here are some options:
- South Beach Road / Lighthouse Drive intersection: As you drive toward Coral Cove Park, you can catch a partial view of the lighthouse from the road. Pull over safely in designated spots along the side if possible for a photo.
- Beach access points near Coral Cove Park: Just before or after the park entrance, there are public beach areas and small parking spots where the lighthouse can be seen in the distance over the inlet.
- Across the Jupiter Inlet: If you cross over the bridge on A1A or look from the public boat ramp areas, you get a scenic view of the lighthouse with water in the foreground, ideal for wide-angle photos.
Additional tips:
- Early morning or late afternoon light gives the best photos with softer shadows and often fewer people around.
- Bring a zoom lens or phone with good zoom capability if you want a closer shot without entering the paid area.
- Check tide times if you plan to shoot from the beach or inlet for reflections and better composition.
Summary:
You don’t need to pay for admission to capture decent photos. South Beach Road, nearby public beach access points, and the inlet areas provide multiple angles of the lighthouse, allowing you to get scenic shots as you continue on your way to Coral Cove Park.
