TA folks need some advice with my planning - We are most likely going to be in naples or Marco island on christmas day for 1 or 2 nights. Is anything open that day & night? night markets or anything Christmasy? any ideas on what we can do all day
Spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Naples or Marco Island can be a relaxed and festive experience, though it’s important to plan ahead because many businesses and restaurants operate on limited hours or close entirely on December 25th.
During the day, you can enjoy outdoor and seasonal activities. Both Naples and Marco Island offer beautiful beaches, and a walk along the shore or a sunset stroll can be very festive. If you’re looking for more active options, you could rent bikes, kayaks, or paddleboards at local rental shops, many of which are open on Christmas Eve and may offer limited service on Christmas Day.
For Christmas-themed activities, some local communities host holiday boat parades or light displays along canals and waterfront areas. It’s worth checking local event calendars for Naples’ Downtown Christmas Boat Parade or holiday decorations at popular areas like Fifth Avenue South.
Regarding dining, many resorts and larger restaurants offer special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meals, but reservations are usually required in advance. Some options include:
Night markets and evening events are generally limited on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. However, some hotels and resorts host festive evening entertainment, such as live music or small holiday gatherings, which can be a fun way to celebrate without traveling far.
In summary, plan outdoor activities during the day, enjoy beach time or walking around decorated areas, and book any holiday meals well in advance. Resorts may provide the most convenient and festive options for both dining and evening entertainment.
