Itinerary ideas 2025

We will be visiting Naples FL in November.

We will have spent the week before in Sarasota and St. Pete. We are 2 mature adults with a car.

We’ve visited Naples previously and walked 5th Avenue shops, art galleries, and enjoyed a wonderful meal at Caffe Milano. We visited the beach, The pier, and drove around some expensive neighborhoods.

What are other places that we should visit in Naples? We enjoy walking, exploring, and the outdoors. Thank you!

Naples in November is a fantastic time to explore the outdoors, enjoy walks, and experience local culture. Since you’ve already visited the main highlights like 5th Avenue, art galleries, Caffe Milano, and the pier, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the city and its surroundings, especially for mature adults who enjoy walking, exploring, and nature.

Here are some suggestions for additional activities and places to visit:

  • Naples Botanical Garden: A beautifully maintained garden showcasing tropical and subtropical plants. It offers walking paths, themed gardens, and tranquil spots for photography or relaxation.
  • Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park: A pristine beach area perfect for walking, shelling, and enjoying nature. Less crowded than the main city beaches.
  • Clam Pass Park: Features a boardwalk through mangroves leading to a scenic beach. You can rent bikes or take a leisurely stroll. There’s also a tram if you prefer less walking.
  • Lowdermilk Park: Another scenic park along the coast with picnic areas, walking paths, and easy beach access.

For cultural and leisurely exploration beyond the city’s core:

  • The Baker Museum: Offers fine art exhibits and occasional special exhibitions. Great if you enjoy quiet gallery spaces beyond the 5th Avenue area.
  • Artis—Naples / Philharmonic Center: Even if you don’t catch a show, the architecture and grounds are lovely for a casual walk and offer insight into the cultural scene.
  • Historic Palm Cottage: The oldest house in Naples with a small museum and garden; a short but charming walk through history.

For nature and wildlife enthusiasts:

  • Everglades Excursions: Take a short drive to the western edge of Naples for airboat tours or wildlife walks to see alligators, wading birds, and other wildlife.
  • Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve: Offers walking trails, kayaking options, and interpretive exhibits. Ideal for a relaxed outdoor day exploring estuarine habitats.
  • Vanderbilt Beach and nearby nature paths: Enjoy a quiet morning walk or sunset stroll along the coast, often with opportunities to see shorebirds and marine life.

Additional tips:

  • Consider renting bikes for exploring some of the waterfront trails or the longer pathways around Naples Bay.
  • Late November weather is usually pleasant, so early mornings or late afternoons are ideal for outdoor walks and avoiding midday heat.
  • Many small cafes and local markets in neighborhoods around Naples offer an opportunity to combine walking with casual dining or shopping off the beaten path.

With these options, you can enjoy a mix of walking, nature, art, and culture while avoiding the areas you’ve already explored. Naples offers a relaxed pace, perfect for mature travelers seeking outdoor and leisurely activities.
