Preface: No matter how many places I've traveled to or how many beautiful sights I've seen, the beauty of Jiangnan remains unforgettable. Pavilions, towers, flowing bridges, whitewashed walls and gray tiles, and misty rain all represent Jiangnan's unique landscape. "Jiangnan is beautiful, its scenery is familiar; at sunrise, the river flowers are redder than fire, in spring, the river is as green as blue. How can I not miss Jiangnan?" "Spring is not yet old, the wind is gentle and the willows are slanting. Try ascending the Chaoran Terrace and gaze at the moat, half a moat of spring water, a city of flowers, mist and rain obscuring thousands of homes." "Orchid embers fall, a dark crimson banana on the screen. I dream of Jiangnan plum blossoms ripening, a night boat playing flutes, rain rustling, and people talking on the bridge by the post station." These popular lines transport us back to that era. Waking up in the morning and hearing the birds chirping outside the window, I know spring has quietly arrived. As photography enthusiasts, it's time to set out again! This article recommends 10 Jiangnan spring photography destinations suitable for beginners. I hope it will be helpful.
Zhangcun: Zhangcun has the longest bench bridge in Wuyuan. Whenever someone walks by, the reflection in the water blends with the misty background, and a masterpiece is born.
Jiangling: Wuyuan's most famous rapeseed terraces have many shooting angles. From the No. 1 viewing platform to the No. 3 viewing platform, from the top of the mountain to the foot of the mountain, these are the most photographic highlights.

Wuyuan, an ancient county with a rich history in Jiangxi Province, was once under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province. It was one of the six counties of the ancient Huizhou Prefecture. It is the hometown of Zhu Xi, a renowned Neo-Confucianist of the Southern Song Dynasty, and Zhan Tianyou, the father of Chinese railways. "The most fascinating place in my life is Huizhou, where I never dreamed of visiting it." "Huizhou" is a term increasingly mentioned, some say it is the home of traditional Chinese culture. Located in a remote mountainous area, Wuyuan has fortunately preserved all the charm of ancient Huizhou.

Every spring, Wuyuan, known as China's most beautiful countryside, enters its most beautiful season: rapeseed, radish, peach, and pear blossoms bloom in profusion, nestled among the ancient Huizhou villages, nestled among white walls, black tiles, and surrounded by clear waters. Like a childhood poem, the scene reaches its peak of beauty when the mist shrouds the area just after the rain.

Reasons for route recommendation: This route is suitable for office workers. You can feel the breath of Wuyuan spring for a weekend by setting off on Friday night.
Hushan Village: An uninhabited village where no one disturbs you, so you can capture the purest scenery.
Xiatai Observation Deck: A classic angle with a very broad view. There are rapeseed fields at the foot of the mountain. It is also suitable for taking pictures of the starry sky at night. Close your eyes and you can hear the cheerful singing of the mountain stream.

From March to April, when rape blossoms, peach blossoms and pear blossoms are in full bloom, the beauty of Shitan and Changxi is breathtaking. It is also a classic photography spot in the spring of Jiangnan, attracting a large number of photography enthusiasts every year.

Meng Haoran, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, praised the area in a poem: "The lake stretches across Dongting Lake, the river flows into Xin'an Lake, clear." Li Bai, after visiting the area, described it in this way: "The clear stream clears my heart, its waters are a hue unlike any other. May I ask the Xin'an River, how can I see the bottom so clearly? People walk in a mirror, birds fly through a folding screen." The waters of the Xin'an River, regardless of depth, are crystal clear; regardless of season, they are as bright as a mirror. The Xin'an River is at its most beautiful during the blooming rapeseed flowers of March and April and the ripening loquats of mid-May.

Reasons for route recommendation: Also suitable for office workers, departing on Friday night, the difference is that this route allows you to experience the local customs and culture deep in the mountains of southern Anhui.
Yuezhao: The most Jiangnan-style shooting spot. Every building is the essence of Hongcun. Whether in the morning or in the evening, it is the most popular shooting location.

Hongcun, an ancient village characterized by its Hui-style architecture, gained international fame thanks to Ang Lee's Oscar-winning film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." Located in the northwest corner of Yi County, the village is known as "a village in a Chinese painting." Over 140 well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty dwellings remain. The village's multi-story buildings and courtyards complement the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains, creating a picturesque scene at every turn. From the village's natural surroundings to its waterways, streets, buildings, and even interior design, the village remains perfectly preserved in its original state.

Reasons for route recommendation: If you have time, this route is definitely not to be missed. You can enjoy all the spring scenery in Jiangnan in four days!
There is no so-called best photography spot here. As long as the peach blossoms are in full bloom, it is a place for us photographers to stop.

In March, with the sun blazing and the spring breeze gently caressing your face, Yuandong's peach blossoms are in full bloom across the mountains and plains. The vibrant pink of the mountains and plains, interspersed with the white of pear blossoms and the vibrant yellow of winter jasmine, further enhances the allure of spring. Portraiture photography is a must here!

Recommended route reason: Go to the most suitable place at the most accurate time. The pink peach blossoms covering the mountains are only best viewed for two weeks a year, so don't miss it!
Yangjiatang: Known as the Potala Palace of Jiangnan, the stacked red mud buildings are the biggest highlight here.
Damushan Tea Garden: Songyang is famous for its tea, with Damushan being the largest tea-producing area. In spring, the Damushan Tea Garden is bustling with tea picking, tea frying, and tea sales, making it a prime spot for photographers!

Songyang, a photography hub in Zhejiang Province, boasts picturesque mountains and rivers, ancient villages, and beautiful windows, with carved beams and painted rafters. It's truly a pristine gem nestled among the mountains of Fujian and Zhejiang. During pear blossom season, the red walls and black tiles of the old houses contrast beautifully with the snow-white blossoms. With luck, you might even encounter a sea of clouds.

The main theme of Sidu is the unique climate change that combines five mountain villages with clouds and fog to create a harmonious scene between man and nature. Tourists here can not only capture the magnificent scenery, but also integrate a certain cultural touch into the natural scenery.

The most distinctive feature of Sandu is the ancient village of Hongni, with its varied and well-proportioned landscapes. In spring, the peach and pear blossoms are fragrant, making it a photogenic route with numerous villages and a long itinerary to choose from.

Reasons for route recommendation: Songyang has always been one of my favorite photography spots, because it is rarely disturbed by people, but has the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan that is like a visual paradise.
Kecun Observation Deck: From here you can see the entire rapeseed basin, and the perspective is like an aerial photo! It's simply spectacular!

It's rapeseed season in Kecun Township, Yi County, southern Anhui's largest rapeseed basin. Standing on the observation deck at Maoshanling, you're struck by the vast printmaking before you: a smudge of yellow, shrouded in green, with pink walls and black tiles scattered across the landscape, appearing only indistinctly. Kecun is also a new filming location!

Recommended route reason: It is rare to encounter such a large scene in Jiangnan! This is the largest rapeseed basin in Jiangnan!
Changchun Bridge: This is the place with the densest concentration of cherry blossoms in Yuantouzhu. The cherry blossoms, the small bridge, and Taihu Lake create a most romantic picture of the spring scenery in the south of the Yangtze River.

In March, when the spring breeze is gentle, the entire park is covered in cherry blossoms. The adjacent Taihu Lake shimmers with the shadows of sailboats, creating a beautiful photo op. Avoid the crowds on weekends.

Reason for route recommendation: The most romantic thing I can think of is to go to Yuantouzhu to enjoy the cherry blossoms with you!
Nineteen Peaks of Chuanyan: The tea plantation in front of you and the Danxia in the distance blend perfectly. This is probably the most characteristic scenery of Tianmu Mountain.
Tofu Skin Workshop: When talking about Tianmu Mountain, we have to mention the tofu skin workshop. This traditional and ancient practice is rarely seen nowadays, and every photo will become an eternal memory.

"Tianmu Mountain stretches across the sky, its might surpasses the Five Mountains and covers Chicheng." The natural scenery around Tianmu Mountain is beautiful and steep, the mountains and rivers are poetic and picturesque, and the cultural heritage is profound. Whether you are a landscape or cultural photography enthusiast, you can find your favorite subject here.
Many of Xinchang's ancient villages still retain their original ecology, and farmers still use traditional production tools, which is a very good angle for photography creation.

Reasons for route recommendation: The journey is not far. Here you can see the Danxia landform of Tianmu Mountain stretching to the sky, as well as the tofu beauty who is holding the pipa and half covering her face. Tianmu Mountain must not be missed!
Meiganling Observation Deck: The best angle to appreciate the terraces. In spring, wheat and rapeseed flowers are planted alternately on the terraces, hence the saying of "two-color terraces". It is perfect for shooting with an ultra-wide-angle lens.

In March and April, the cauliflowers of Anhui's Jiapeng Terraces bloom discreetly. Nestled between ancient villages and towering peaks, they form a "hidden sea of flower terraces." There are no tour groups here, only hikers and photographers. Visit now before it becomes the next bustling Wuyuan. There's a magnificent viewing platform perfect for photography, including a 360-degree super viewing platform – breathtaking!

Deep in the mountains of southern Anhui, there is an ancient village surrounded by peaks - Shangcun. In spring, there are large terraced fields of rapeseed flowers, and in summer, it is a sea of sunflowers. You can find the foreground, middle and background scenes you need here. The ancient village is well preserved and the scenery is full of humanity.

Reasons for recommending this route: The hidden Hui-style buildings, the scattered two-color terraces, and the 360-degree viewing platform provide a breathtaking view from every angle.
Qianduo Scenic Area Observation Deck: In the Xinghua Scenic Area, there stands a tower-shaped rapeseed flower viewing deck. The viewing angle for shooting here is perfect. As long as the weather is good, you will definitely be able to take great photos.

The rapeseed fields within Xinghua's Qiandao Rapeseed Park cover nearly 10,000 mu (approximately 10,000 acres). Thousands of raised fields float on the water, creating a breathtaking spectacle of clouds and mist. The rapeseed flowers of Xinghua, Jiangsu, are in full bloom. Here, the elegance of a wooden boat ride rivals that of a gondola, and the charm of the flower fields rivals the complexity of Venice's waterways... Every turn is a journey through the flower fields, a journey of self-congratulation.

Xinghua's thousand-acre rapeseed flower sea, nestled in the tiered fields of the Yangtze River, is awash in vibrant yellow blossoms. The Xinghua flower sea has been selected as one of China's most influential rapeseed flower fields.

Reasons for route recommendation: The rape flowers in the Jiangnan water towns are very different, with misty rain and thousands of flowers blooming, which is worth exploring.
