Shenzhen's Most Beautiful Coastline - A Guide to Crossing the East and West

Preface

The Dongxi Chong hiking route is known as one of the top ten most beautiful hiking routes in China, and the Xichong Beach at the end of the hike has also been rated as one of the eight most beautiful beaches in China. With such beautiful scenery, the Dongxi Chong crossing can be said to be the most famous coastline hiking route in Shenzhen and a must-see route for outdoor activities in Shenzhen.

Where is the East-West Crossing?

This hiking route connects the Dongchong (Chong) Beach and the Xichong (Chong) Beach. The general starting point of the hike is Dongchong Beach. The entire hike is 8 kilometers and the hiking time is 4 to 6 hours. Hiking along the coastline, there is the sea on one side, which is endless and blue. The sea breeze blows, and every step you take through Dongchong and Xichong will bring you a different sea view.

There are many small beaches along the way, and local fishermen sometimes set up simple resting spots where they sell water and provide a place for people to rest.

The first half of the crossing route is mountainous and the road surface is relatively slippery. You need to be more careful when going down the mountain. There are gravels in many places. Crossing mountains and ridges is thrilling and exciting. You must use your hands and feet to walk, climb, and jump. Remember to wear non-slip shoes and outdoor gloves.
