Jiuhua Mountain was known as Jiuzi Mountain before the Tang Dynasty because its peaks resemble nine sons. In the early years of the Tang Dynasty's Tianbao period, the poet Li Bai visited Jiuhua Mountain and, upon reaching the summit, gazed down at the interconnected peaks like a blooming lotus. He composes the poem, "Wonderful existence divides into two energies, the sacred mountain opens Jiuhua Mountain," and the name has been passed down to later generations.
Jiuhua Mountain boasts temples within the mountains, villages at its foot, scenery within the villages, and immortals within the scenery. Its 99 peaks and 99 temples embody the fundamental Buddhist principles of "perfection" and "returning to oneness."

Tianzhu Peak is located in the northwest of Qingqiao Bay, with an altitude of 1,004 meters. There is a peak named "Xiangshi Lao" on its south side, which is said to make a strange sound every time it rains; it is bordered by Shuangfeng to the west; Dagu Peak to the south; Cuifeng Dicui to the northeast; Pingli Wulao Peak to the northwest; and Liexian Peak to the southwest, with many human-shaped rocks on the top of the peak.
Liantai Peak, located northeast of Luohandun, stands at an altitude of 1,218 meters. Five massive rocks stacked high form the peak, with staggered overhanging rocks forming a spacious cave with four entrances. Monks once resided there, with a large hall and meditation hall capable of accommodating hundreds of people.
Furong Peak, also known as the West Peak of Mount Hua and Lotus Peak, is 900 meters above sea level. It rises from the top of Jiuhua Mountain in the north. A Qing Dynasty poet named Wang Guan wrote in a poem: "The peaks can be opened by Wu Ding, and the lotus can be planted randomly. I often wonder why visitors to Jiuhua Mountain don't come to see the mountains."
Chaxiao Peak is Dongya, also known as East Peak, with an altitude of 817 meters. It is one of the famous peaks of Jiuhua Mountain.
Ten Kings Peak, located south of Tiantai Peak, stands at 1,342 meters above sea level and is the highest peak in Jiuhua Mountain. Composed of granite, it boasts lush vegetation, including fir and Huangshan pine trees, and is home to rare animals such as macaques, pangolins, hawksbill turtles, and giant salamanders.
Tiantai Peak, also known as "Tiantai Peak," stands at 1,306 meters, making it the third highest peak in Jiuhua Mountain. Tiantai Zen Temple stands atop the peak, and a dark blue ridge stretches to the southeast. Legend has it that Jin Dizang borrowed land from Duke Min and unfurled his robes on this peak. The robes flew in the wind, covering all ninety-nine peaks.

Luohan Peak is located northwest of Tiantai Peak, with an altitude of 1,280 meters. To the west of the peak is Luohandun, a large open space on the mountain ridge with the remains of an ancient temple foundation.
Jiuhua Mountain is divided into the front mountain and the back mountain. Local people usually divide the front mountain into the upper mountain and the lower mountain. The upper mountain is the core scenic area of Jiuhua Mountain, including the Jiuhua Street Scenic Area, Minyuan Scenic Area and Tiantai Scenic Area, which are very popular. The lower mountain is the later developed Dayuan Cultural Park and Huatai Scenic Area, which are mainly for sightseeing.
Houshan is the back mountain of Jiuhua Mountain Range, located on the eastern foot of Jiuhua Mountain. Administratively, it mainly belongs to Zhubei Town, Qingyang County. Because the Jiuziyan Scenic Area is located in Zhubei Town, local people usually call Zhubei Town Houshan. Jiuhua Houshan is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

Mount Jiuhua covers an area of 120 square kilometers and has 99 peaks of various sizes. However, the core scenic area that has been developed is only a dozen square kilometers and a few peaks. Therefore, there are many hiking trails in the undeveloped areas.

④ Route from the back mountain to the core scenic area: Take a bus from Qingyang to Zhubei General Village, Big Flower Terrace, Small Flower Terrace, Tiantai Temple, Praying Sutra Terrace, Diaoqiao Temple, Huiju Temple, Phoenix Pine, take a bus or hike past Huixiang Pavilion, Jiuhua Street, and then take a bus down the mountain to Qingyang (25 kilometers, 10 hours)
