Lushan Attractions

Lulin Bridge

After arriving at Lushan, on the way up the mountain to Yunjing Hotel in Guling Town, we passed Lulin Bridge and Lulin Lake. Lulin Bridge is a bridge and dam in one, blocking the water to form a lake, and the lake water is like a mirror.

The scenery of Lulin Bridge is completely different in different weather conditions. On rainy days, the misty clouds and the mountains and rivers are like ink paintings. On sunny days, the scenery is majestic and magnificent. Standing on the bridge and watching the sunset and distant mountains is very layered.

San Diequan Cable Car

The mountain cable car is naturally indispensable. When heading to Sandiequan, a must-see spot in Lushan, you can choose to take the Sandiequan cable car.

Different from conventional cable cars, the Sandiequan Cable Car has only two carriages, one for each round trip. The total length of the cable car is nearly 1,500 meters, with a height difference of about 150 meters. It uses the most advanced cable car technology and is built on the mountain.

It only takes 5 minutes to reach Yidiequan. You can travel through the mountains and forests and cross ditches and streams. Not only can you enjoy the beautiful and elegant scenery, but you can also save precious time and energy.

San Diequan

Sandiequan is the "Lushan Waterfall" described in the poem "Viewing Lushan Waterfall." Also known as the Three-Tier Spring and Water Curtain Spring, Sandiequan was hailed as "Lushan's No. 1 Wonder" by ancient Chinese poets, and is even considered "Lushan's No. 1 Wonder." Locals even say, "If you haven't visited Sandiequan, you haven't truly visited Lushan."

After getting off the cable car, you still need to go down about 1,500 steps to reach the Sandiequan Observation Deck, where you can best view the waterfall.

Only by visiting this place can one be considered a true Lushan visitor. Standing on the viewing platform below the spring, looking up at the cascading waterfall, one feels a surge of emotion and a feeling that everything is worth it.

Wulao Peak

Wulao Peak is another famous scenic spot on Mount Lushan. Located in the southeast of the mountain, it is home to five peaks of varying heights, formed by changes in the earth's crust. From a distance, the peaks resemble five old men sitting on the ground, creating a majestic landscape of one mountain and five peaks.

Hanpokou

Hanpokou, located on Hanpo Peak, resembles a galloping horse or a swimming dragon, majestically stretching between Jiuqi Peak and Wulao Peak. From a distance, it looks like a gaping mouth, ready to swallow up the waters of Poyang Lake, hence the name "Hanpokou".

The wonder of Hanpokou lies in the Chinese character "Han" (Han) in its shape, creating the grandeur of "a thousand-mile Poyang Lake and a mountain range." Standing on the viewing platform at Pokou, you can gaze into the distance, gazing at the hazy Yangtze River and Jiujiang City in the distance.

Roadside viewing platform

On the side of the road leading to Xiaotianchi, there are two unnamed viewing platforms.

Standing on the observation deck and overlooking the half-mountain building area, you can see various old-style buildings with distinctive and unique styles, grouped together, and paired with the charming sunset, it is simply too beautiful.

Night Tour of Guling Town

In the central area of Lushan, there is a small town called Guling Town. The town is very prosperous, with a variety of specialty shops, modern cinemas, fast food restaurants, various homestays, chain hotels, and all the necessary commercial and supporting facilities.

Ruqin Lake

Starting from Guling Street's central park, heading west along Dalin Road, you'll reach Ruqin Lake, named for its violin-like shape. This mountain park boasts a couplet at the gate: "Flowers bloom in the mountain temple, poems linger." Above the gate are the characters for "Flower Path." East of the lake, beside Dalin Road, stands the famous glacial relic, the "Flying Stone."

Flower Path

On the third day of our journey, on the way to the Immortal Cave, we passed a large courtyard called Flower Path. Legend has it that this was once the site of Dalin Temple, one of the three most famous temples in Lushan's history (Xilin Temple, Donglin Temple, and Dalin Temple). During the Tang Dynasty, this area was known as "the first scenic spot in Kuanglu." Flower Path was the spot where the great Tang poet Bai Juyi wrote "Peach Blossoms in Dalin Temple."

dangerous peaks

From Jinxiu Valley, you need to climb up the mountain through the forest path and climb for a distance before you reach the dangerous peak. This dangerous peak is the one mentioned in Chairman Mao’s poem "Infinite scenery is on the dangerous peak."

Standing on the dangerous peak and looking at the Lion's Mouth of Lushan Mountain from afar, the clouds and fog are sometimes thick and sometimes thin. When they are thin, you can see the distant peaks forming a clear inverted "V" shape, while when they are thick, you can see a vast expanse of fog.

Immortal Cave

After coming down from the dangerous peak, we started to go down the mountain, and the last stop was the Fairy Cave.

Xianren Cave is a rock cave formed by sand cliffs. Due to the continuous weathering of nature and the long-term erosion of mountains and rivers, a natural cave was gradually formed. Because its shape resembles a Buddha's hand, it is named Buddha's Hand Rock.

The flying rocks can provide shelter, the clear springs can cleanse the mind, and looking down outside the mountains, there are boundless white clouds and vast rivers, giving one a feeling of being far away from the world.

This place is not only the most popular scenic spot among tourists, but also a Taoist blessed land. According to legend, the famous Tang Dynasty Taoist Lu Dongbin once practiced in this cave until he became an immortal. In order to commemorate Lu Dongbin, later generations renamed the Buddha's Hand Rock as the Immortal Cave.

Lushan Cuisine

Liangjiang Tower

Liangjianglou is a local restaurant opened by locals. Their fried pork with chili peppers is really delicious. The chili peppers are cut into slices and then dried, and paired with fatty pork belly. It can be eaten with several bowls of rice.

Guling Food Street

If you are not used to the local food, you can choose to go to the Guling Town Food Street, which has everything, including milk tea and fast food!
