According to legend, Jingjiang in ancient times was just a piece of sandbar at the foot of Gushan Mountain. As the silt in the river accumulated, the sandbar was connected to form land. The county was established in 1471, which is 547 years ago.

Today, Jingjiang is located in the south-central part of Jiangsu Province. The city has become a modern and prosperous urban scene, but it has retained many bonsai arts, landscape gardens, and historical sites and scenic spots everywhere, inheriting the culture and spirit of this land.

Today, let us follow tourists @朱咩咩 to enter the niche Jingjiang and explore this low-key treasure town together.
Food is the primary reason to come to Jingjiang. When you are surrounded by these wonderful foods, you can feel full of happiness. Only by truly tasting these flavors can you leave no regrets on this trip.

① Crab roe soup dumplings
There is a local saying in Jingjiang: "Other soup dumplings outside of here are a blasphemy!" So if you come to Jingjiang, you must try crab roe soup dumplings a few times!

An excellent crab roe soup dumpling requires not only exquisite ingredients but also cooking methods. The filling should be made from hairy crabs, pork skin jelly, old hens, etc. The skin should be evenly thin and tender. Both are indispensable!

When eating soup dumplings, you need to remember the twelve-word motto: "Lift gently, move quickly, open the window first, then drink the soup." Take a sip of the soup, it is as rich as a spring, thick but not greasy. After absorbing the soup, add some fragrant vinegar, garnish with shredded ginger, and chew it with big mouthfuls. It is really exciting.

② Braised puffer fish
There is a saying in Jingjiang: "Nothing delicious tastes better after you've eaten puffer fish." Even the God of Cookery Cai Lan recommended puffer fish as the first item on his list of must-eats before his death.

Most of the puffer fish in Jingjiang are farmed, so they can be eaten all year round. The chefs will clean out the poisonous parts and use fresh puffer fish with old-fashioned broth to retain the delicious taste of the fish to the greatest extent. It is so addictive!
③Maqiao wontons
Wontons?! How good can wontons be? Jingjiang wontons are so delicious that you'll be amazed.

There are wonton shops all over the streets of Jingjiang, and the most distinctive one is Maqiao Wonton, which got its name because it was first produced in Maqiao Town and then became popular in Jingjiang.

It is different from other wontons. It is mainly made of vegetables and meat. The skin is thin and delicious. It is full of fresh fragrance. One bite will leave you with an endless aftertaste.
Jishi Ancient Town is located at the junction of Jingjiang, Taixing and Rugao. It was once a prosperous place for merchants and trade, but the scene today seems like a frozen past.

Even though the prosperity is gone, the white steam rising from the stove, the steamers piled high, the various old goods in the grocery stores, and the old streets of Ji City are full of the atmosphere of human life, and it is still the scene of the old times.
①Wangjiayin Cake
The traditional snack, lotus leaf, osmanthus and artemisia capillaris, used to be made with the herb Artemisia capillaris as its base, which has the effect of clearing away heat, removing fire and dampness.

Nowadays, the artemisia capillaris is replaced by lotus leaves. It has a strong rice aroma and the fragrance of lotus leaves. It is very chewy.

②Yulan Fermented Cake Shop
Yeast bread is very popular among local people. When the yeast bread is baked on the fire, the aroma of oil, flour and sesame interweaves into an olfactory rhapsody!

The yeast bread sold in the store is generous in size and has a sweet aroma with raisins in it. It reminds me of the tempting aroma of street food on my way home from school as a child. It really makes me miss it.

③Lao Yang Dalu Shaobing
Lao Yang's Dalu Shaobing is also a local internet-famous snack, and there are often long queues at the door.

It looks ordinary, and it costs one yuan for a small one. Once you eat one, you will be addicted. You can buy and try each flavor. The taste is rich and the taste is unique!

Jingjiang is full of Jiangnan charm. Parks and green plants can be found everywhere in the city, making it a poetic urban oasis.
Listen and chant
Liyuan is located in Shengci Town. The owner poured his poetic feelings into it, combining the Huizhou architectural style with the Suyang style to design the current appearance of Liyuan.

There are tens of thousands of precious trees in the park, which are scattered throughout the park. The plants are lush, the lake is green and the trees are green. Walking in the park, you can feel the poetry and charm.

The pavilions and terraces are arranged with ingenuity, the lake reflects the shadows of flowers, plants and trees, and the bonsai garden is arranged with an artistic sense. Windows and walls of various shapes are used to make the beauty of the bonsai blend harmoniously into the scenery, intersecting and reflecting each other.

The arch bridges and buildings in the garden divide the lake into the shape of the Chinese character "生", so it is also called "Sheng Lake".

Three-dimensional painting
The sunshine in the West Suburb Park in the afternoon is particularly beautiful. Walking under the shade of the trees on both sides is quiet and comfortable.

I have long heard of the reputation of "Jingjiang bonsai is the best in the world". There is a bonsai pavilion in the garden with Hui style architecture, which is unique among the tall trees on both sides.

The museum houses many exquisite landscape bonsais. Six of the stamps in the "Special Stamps of Chinese Landscape Bonsais" are based on these bonsai prototypes. The waving pine forests, the Guilin landscapes, and the green shadows of the Lijiang River make people marvel at the otherworldly realm of bonsai art.

Green Life
Walking on the tree-lined path, the green shade above your head blocks the dazzling afternoon sun. The lake is sparkling, and the city administrative center is on the lakeside, a thriving scene.

Breathing in the fresh air, listening to the laughter of children playing, sitting by the lake and relaxing, immersed in the beautiful moments, life at this moment becomes poetry~

Combination of design sense and technology sense
In Mazhou Park, there is a library with a strong sense of design. Its oval appearance is like a landed flying saucer, and the geometric glass exterior wall is full of technology.

Walking into the library, you will see shelves full of books and tall bookshelves. The seats downstairs are all occupied. Even in the hot weather, there are still many people studying and working here.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps, creating a symphony of light and shadow on the ground. Time passed silently, and the people in Ronghu Study found their own happiness in reading.

From Yue Fei and Liu Guojun to the soldiers of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, their stories and spirits have been passed down from generation to generation, creating Jingjiang's rich urban culture.
Promised Land
In the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty, Yue Fei was appointed by the court to govern the territory from Taizhou to Nantong. During this period, the people trapped in the war lost their homes. Yue Fei resettled the people while fighting against the Jin army.

In order to commemorate Yue Fei, local people built a shrine (built when Yue Fei was still alive). The shrine is always visited by worshippers, and people place their hopes for a better life on Yue Fei through the shrine.

Among them, Yue Temple has been rebuilt four times, all of which are related to the spirit of "loyalty to the country" of Mr. Liu Guojun and his descendants. It has always inspired Mr. Liu Guojun to strive for self-improvement and is also the spiritual belief in his heart that has never changed.

Industrial spirit
Mr. Liu Guojun, born in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province, is an outstanding modern industrialist and a famous patriotic national industrialist and businessman in China. He came from a poor family when he was young, and later worked hard to start his own business and eventually became a pioneer in China's textile industry.

The architectural style of Liu Guojun's former residence has Jiangnan characteristics. The traditional Chinese courtyard, gate pattern, eaves and tiles all quietly tell the glorious and difficult past of Mr. Liu Guojun.

The memorial hall consists of four parts: "Life Story - Weathering the Storms", "Hardship and Pioneering - Amazing Life", "Dreaming of Hometown - Resolute Return", and "Textile King - Prospering the Country through Industry".

In the low and shabby room, there is an old wooden bed and a loom, as if telling the world about the hard-working and frugal years of the owner of the house, which inspires admiration.
Rich history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression
The small city of Jingjiang had a special geographical location during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. It was identified as a key breakthrough area and a bridgehead for troop assembly.

Walking into the Memorial Hall of the First Sail on the Eastern Front, the sense of history of that era comes over you. The old photos show the great contribution made by the people of Jingjiang to the Battle of Crossing the Yangtze River, the moving power of cooperation between the military and civilians, and the touching friendship of unity and cooperation between soldiers and civilians, all of which are moving.

It was their courage and firm belief at that time that created a better future for future generations.

"The Yangtze River rolls eastward, its waves wash away all heroes." Walking in the memorial hall, remembering the martyrs, learning history, also makes us cherish our present life more.

The lights of fishing boats, the vicissitudes of life, the former sandbar in the river are now full of modern atmosphere, but they still retain their original ecological features. This magical land has not only become a new food map in people’s hearts, but also a spiritual hometown for people to reminisce about the past.
