When you come to Yunqiu Mountain, you must stay in Kangjiaping!
Kangjiaping is an ancient mountain village located at the foot of Yunqiu Mountain. Surrounded by green trees, it features quaint houses and a collection of beautiful accommodations, making it a perfect place to stay when traveling to Yunqiu Mountain.

The ancient village houses here, which are hundreds of years old, have been successfully transformed and restored into a cave-themed B&B with a strong southern Shanxi style. In collaboration with a well-known design team from Taiwan, they have based their design on life, retained the most original local characteristics, and created a healthy and livable holiday resort.

Kangjiaping B&B currently has 17 courtyards open and 99 rooms of various characteristics. Each room and each courtyard has its own unique style. The quaint and elegant environment style is matched with modern home appliances, making it comfortable and livable. Among them, my favorite is the Fangniyanglou.

The Fangni Building was built by American Li Jie using local clay from Yunqiu Mountain mixed with straw and rice straw. The house built of mud is primitive, simple, close to nature and authentic.
The entire homestay integrates the unique cultures of China and the West, with both the local cave dwelling characteristics of Yunqiu Mountain and the elegant Western lifestyle.

The Fangni Western-style building has its own entrance and courtyard, with a sunny garden courtyard. It is a small duplex building with a room on each floor. The first floor is a living space with a dining table, kitchen, and private seats. It has Chinese and Western features, elegant layout, and high-quality style.

Here you can also check out the Yeshe Small Grassland, located at the foot of the ancient village. There is a small green meadow here. The whole meadow is not large, but the view is excellent. You can see the distant mountain scenery in front and the ancient village courtyard of Kangjiaping in the back.

There is a grass tent in the mountains and grass, which has a wild and luxurious taste. It is also suitable for a wild and luxurious grass afternoon tea here.
The Yunqiu Mountain Windmill Festival is also underway recently, so there are many windmills planted on this small lawn. When the wind blows, the windmills spin with a clattering sound, which is very beautiful.

In addition to Kangjiaping Ancient Village, there is another must-see ancient village in Yunqiu Mountain, which is Talpo Ancient Village. Talpo Village is an ancient village with a history of 2,500 years.

The ancient village is nestled between mountains and rivers, with lush greenery, unique folk customs and practices, and has preserved its original ecology. It is known as the "living fossil of millennium residential architecture" and is the most historically and traditionally valuable attraction in Yunqiu Mountain.

When visiting Talpo Ancient Village, be sure to see one of the most distinctive and authentic local wedding performances, which inherit the ancient wedding culture that has been passed down for thousands of years. The wedding performance is held in the village square, with the beating of gongs and drums, and is extremely lively.

The whole performance can be roughly divided into the following parts: Welcome by the village chief: lively singing and dancing, the village chief gives a speech and welcomes everyone.

After watching the wedding performance, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the ancient village. The entire Talpo Ancient Village has more than 60 cave dwellings and more than 50 wooden houses, built against the mountain, and most of them retain their original appearance.

The ancient village courtyards, cave dwellings, stone slabs and stone steps have an original and simple flavor. The wind blows through the forest and birds sing in the mountains. Take a stroll among them, feel the tranquility of the ancient village, and listen to the stories of the ancient village.

The village chief's house is where the village chief used to live. Entering the house, you'll find a large, open courtyard and two rooms. One room displays a bedroom scene, while the other is a cultural and creative product store specializing in facial masks, where you can buy many interesting and fun facial masks.

There is also a face painting study and experience area in the yard, where you can come and experience and feel face painting.

The Flower Bun Shop showcases the unique flower bun culture of Yunqiu Mountain. Here, you can learn about the flower bun culture of Yunqiu Mountain and see the various flower bun shapes, including many cute animal-shaped flower buns.

Huamo, also known as dough sculpture, is a handicraft that processes flour, glutinous rice flour and other raw materials and then shapes them into figures, animals, utensils and other shapes.

Yunqiu Mountain Flower Bun is a traditional folk art in Shanxi Province with a long history and a wide variety of varieties. It can be divided into festival customs according to its function.

Also worth mentioning is the Shenxian Valley at the entrance of the village, which is shrouded in clouds and mist, green forests and mountains, and the ancient village is hidden. The fairy air is floating in the air, it really feels like being in a fairyland.

The longed-for Yunqiu Mountain, home to a world-renowned cluster of ice caves, is a must-see for internet celebrities. Without having to travel to Antarctica or the Arctic, you can experience the fairytale world of ice and snow in the Yunqiu Mountain Ice Caves.

The Yunqiu Mountain Ice Cave Group, known as one of the three major ice cave wonders in the world, is a naturally formed group of ice caves and a charming and magical dreamland.

The entire ice cave is interconnected and winding, with a total length of more than 100 meters. The widest part is 12 meters and the highest part is 15 meters. The walls of the cave are frozen, forming many ice piles.

Inside the cave, you can see icicles, ice shoots, ice stalactites, ice rock flowers, ice grapes, and mysterious, deep ice caves. The lights inside the cave also change, creating a colorful and dreamlike world.

Tips:
1. There are free cotton coats at the entrance, so be sure to wear them. It is very cold inside at -5 degrees Celsius, so it is recommended to wear long pants. There are also free safety helmets, which must be worn as they are easy to get bumped inside.
2. Some spaces in the cave are small, so it is recommended to walk along the route, do not go back, and do not run inside.
3. After coming out of the cave, there is free warm water at the door. It is recommended to drink a cup to prevent colds
In addition to visiting the ancient village and seeing the ice cave, there is one more thing to do in Yunqiu Mountain, that is hiking. Take a journey of breathing oxygen and clearing lungs in the mountains and bravely climb to the highest point, Yuhuangding.

Take a car to Kangjiaping Ancient Village, and start the mountain climbing journey from here, passing the first scenic spot Hulutan.

According to legend, the Eight Immortals came to the Holy Mother Valley in Yunqiu Mountain and stayed there because they thought it was a paradise on earth. Hulutan was formed from the gourd of Li Tieguai, one of the Eight Immortals.

Go forward and you will reach the cable car station of Yuhuangding. You can choose whether to take the cable car according to your actual situation. Because we had other arrangements and itineraries later, we chose to take the cable car up the mountain this time.

The entire cable car ride takes about 25 minutes, and the ascent offers a wealth of unique views. With verdant mountains to the side and green forests to the horizon, the summer scenery of Yunqiu Mountain is truly refreshing.

After getting off the cable car, go up the steps for about 600 meters and you will reach the Yuhuangding Cultural Tourist Area, which is also the highest point of Yunqiu Mountain.

The Jade Emperor Pavilion is a three-story building. It is 6.4 meters long, 6.32 meters wide and 15 meters high. It is a double-eaved cross-shaped hip roof attic built on a beamless hall, surrounded by white marble fences.
The first floor is where Taoist priests live, the second floor is the Star Hall and the Beamless Hall, and the third floor is the Jade Emperor Pavilion, where the Jade Emperor and the Sun and Moon Gods are enshrined.

Standing on the Jade Emperor Peak at an altitude of 1,629 meters, overlooking the entire Yunqiu Mountain scenery, your heart will be open, and the refreshing mountain breeze will blow towards you. In this fairy-like scenery, you will forget yourself and be intoxicated by it.

There is a road coming down from Yuhuangding - Ruyuan Road. The consecutive twenty-one slopes are called the Lucky Slopes. It coincides with the recent Windmill Festival. On the colorful road, the windmills are turning with the wind, which is smart and beautiful.

After passing Ruyuan Road, you will reach a romantic bridge - Yuanyang Bridge, which is 219 meters long, 195 meters high and 2 meters wide. It is currently the longest and tallest fully transparent high-altitude glass bridge in Shanxi Province.

There is also a cliff swing next to it, which is ingeniously built on the edge of a 220-meter-high green mountain. This is a game for the brave and suitable for people who like challenges.

After coming down from Yuanyang Bridge, you will arrive at the Yunqiu Mountain Ice Cave Group Scenic Area, where there are also other very novel and fun projects, such as hang gliding, dry skiing, zip line, etc., as well as super exciting bungee jumping and aerial flying projects.

1. Currently, the scenic spot does not charge the first entrance ticket. You only need to buy a small transportation ticket of 20 yuan per person to enter the park.
2. Other activities in the scenic area require separate ticket purchases: Ice Cave Group 120/person, Yuanyang Bridge 60/person, Dry Skiing 30/person.
