About 400 years ago, Xu Xiake, a famous traveler in the Ming Dynasty, visited Wanfenglin. Although he had seen countless mountains and rivers before, he was still deeply impressed by the scenery here and praised it highly, saying, "There are so many mountains in the world, but only here the peaks form a forest", "The clustered peaks are majestic for thousands of miles and are a wonder of the southwest."

Wanfenglin is located in the south of Xingyi City, Guizhou Province. It has nearly 20,000 strange peaks and green hills, which can be called China's conical karst museum. "National Geographic China" also rated Wanfenglin as "one of the five most beautiful peak forests in China."
Wanfenglin is divided into two major areas, the East and West Peak Forests. The paid scenic area currently open to the public is mainly located in Wutun Town under the West Peak Forest. The East Peak Forest has not been developed and is connected to Wanfeng Lake, retaining its original ecological beauty.
Currently, there are more than 6,000 acres of rapeseed flowers in Wanfenglin. The rapeseed flowers will bloom in early February and the flowering period will last until around mid-March.
From afar, the blooming rapeseed flowers look like a golden carpet, spread among the undulating green peaks. The majestic peaks and the sea of rapeseed flowers are staggered and intertwined with each other. There are peaks among the flowers, and peaks surround the sea of flowers. The scenery is beautiful and unique here.
Under the Wanfeng Forest, natural villages such as Nahui Village and Louna Village are scattered among them. The flat countryside connects the mountains and villages into a whole. Remember that scene from "Where Are We Going, Dad 5" where the dad and his kids rode their bikes in Nahui? During the rapeseed blossom season, cycling through the blooming fields feels like walking through a painting, soaking up the spring sunshine and catching the rising sun. A casual photo captures the captivating scenery.
Tips:
There is a bicycle or electric car rental point at the scenic area visitor center, ranging from 30 to 50 yuan per day.
The riverside trail project starts at the southwest entrance of the Wanfenglin Scenic Area and ends at the Jiangjun Bridge in Shuangsheng Village. Strolling along the riverside trail, you will see a sea of flowers covering thousands of acres. As you walk along, you can not only exercise by hiking, but also enjoy the beautiful scenery. The road is in the scenery, and the scenery is beside the road. You will be in a good mood. It usually takes 4-8 hours to walk through the scenic area.

Recommended route: Take a sightseeing bus from Xu Xiake Square to Baguatian ("the heart of Wanfenglin"), then to the highest point of the viewing platform (overlooking the Fu character rice fields), and finally to a popular coffee shop. It takes about 2-4 hours to tour the entire Wanfenglin area by sightseeing bus, covering all the main attractions and experiencing the village customs. It is a time-saving and fun experience.

Adult ticket + sightseeing bus, 80 yuan/person, the sightseeing bus has about 20 people on it, it will depart when it is full, and it will stop at each observation deck for about 10 minutes.
Adult ticket + VIP sightseeing bus, 168 yuan/person, each bus can seat up to three people, and the tour time is more flexible.
Tips:
The Wanfenglin Scenic Area Road requires a ticket, offering panoramic views from a high vantage point. Bicycles and electric scooters are not permitted along this route, so you can walk or take a sightseeing bus. Otherwise, the entire Wanfenglin area is free. Since it's so large, encompassing several villages, you can explore the area on foot for four or five days. For one or two days, renting a bicycle or electric scooter is recommended.
Self-driving: Starting from Guiyang, take the Guihuang Expressway and Zhensheng Expressway to Wanfenglin, the drive takes about 4 hours;
High-speed rail: Take the train or high-speed rail to Xingyi City, then transfer to bus No. 19 to Wanfenglin, and the last stop is Xu Xiake Square;
Airplane: From Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport to Wanfenglin Scenic Area, drive about 14 kilometers, about 25 minutes, or take a bus from the airport, about 1 hour.
For those who love sweets, Chong Chong Cake is definitely not to be missed. Xingyi Zhao Manniang Chong Chong Cake is made of colorful glutinous rice with rose sugar, sesame, peanuts, brown sugar, water chestnut powder and other flavors. It is mixed with boiling water and then eaten. It is soft, sticky, sweet and not greasy.

Zouji Chicken Tangyuan is a time-honored Xingyi establishment. Their minced free-range chicken is used to wrap the dumplings, creating a delicious and fragrant tangyuan. The broth, in addition to the bones, also includes a sauce made from ginger, pepper, and other spices. The sauce is incredibly rich and balanced. They also serve "Shuabatou," a type of steamed bun stuffed with bamboo shoots, served with a dipping sauce. The broth is incredibly delicious.

There are many accommodation options in downtown Xingyi. We recommend staying near Jushan Square, located in the bustling commercial district and close to Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport, Xingyi Railway Station, and both the East and West Bus Stations. If you'd like to relax and enjoy a longer trip, you can stay in the villages nestled beneath the Wanfenglin Forest, such as Nahui Village and Shuangsheng Village, where you'll find many beautiful, clean B&Bs and inns.
The Maling River Grand Canyon was formed by crustal movement 70 million years ago. Long-term water erosion has created a deep, narrow fissure in the earth. Home to hundreds of waterfalls and a variety of rare plants, the canyon is known as the "Hundred Miles of Art Gallery" and also as "The Earth's Beautiful Scar." It is approximately 30 kilometers from the Wanfenglin Scenic Area, a 40-minute drive.
Wanfeng Lake Scenic Area is adjacent to Wanfenglin, approximately 20 kilometers away, or a 25-minute drive. The lake boasts over 80 islands and a water area of 816 square kilometers, equivalent to three times the size of Erhai Lake in Dali. On an isolated island within Wanfeng Lake stands Jilong Castle, a European-style castle that serves as a hotel resort, making it easy to capture stunning photos from a distance.

Luoping boasts approximately 800,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) of rapeseed fields, which bloom in full bloom from February to March each year. Between sunrise and sunset, the interplay of light and shadow creates a vibrant golden scene, transforming Luoping into a fairytale world. The Wanfenglin Scenic Area is approximately 100 kilometers away, a one-hour drive.
