Guangxi Water Fun Guide! Treasure River Tracing Route - Hechi Skylight

Preface

We've been to the 22°C Changbai Mountains, experienced the cattle and horse trade in Yili, seen the snow-capped mountains of western Sichuan,
and explored the mountains of Guizhou... Where else can we, the recently "blackened" humans, go to spend the summer?! Summer is all about soaking in the water! Today, I've prepared a comprehensive guide to water activities in Guangxi, including the incredibly rare and hidden gem, the "Cool Hechi Skylight" route. Don't miss it while it's hot! 🔥

Skylight Paddle Board @Ak

This place has always been the place our eldest brother wanted to go. It can be said to be the ceiling of water play in China!

Seeing this, you must be asking, are there any cool and suitable places for playing in the water in Guangdong and Guangxi, which sounds very hot?

💥A hot fact: Guangzhou is cooler than Hangzhou in summer

🧊A little-known fact: Guangxi is home to many hidden gems that are never crowded even during summer vacation and National Day.
Without further ado, let me first present a collection of Hechi's water play destinations👇🏻

Hechi: The Real Karst Kingdom

Hechi City is located in the northwestern border of Guangxi and the southern foot of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

Source: Amap

With a karst landform area of 21,800 square kilometers, Hechi is the city with the largest exposed karst landform in Guangxi, earning it the name "Karst Kingdom. "
Compared to Guilin, Hechi is truly understated.
Guilin's karst is characterized by "tower-shaped karst" landforms, while Hechi's karst is primarily characterized by spire and cone shapes, with magnificent and unique landscapes such as tiankeng and natural bridges, as well as numerous underground rivers and skylights, resulting in a richer diversity of landforms.

Duan Jiuton Skylight

How to Play: SUP (Supporting
Skylight) is at its peak from July to September, when sunlight filters through the glassy waters, creating a shimmering effect. This area, also known as the "China's Underwater Mount Everest," is the site of a world record for underwater cave diving. We'll experience SUP (Supporting Skylight) here.

Du'an Xiangshui Pass

How to Play: Take a boat tour.
The current here is gentle, the water is clear, and it's also very cool. Compared to Tunbang, Xiangshuiguan is less crowded. The aquatic plants stretch like green silk, and the sea lettuce flowers seem to be spread on a green carpet. We will take a boat tour of this flowering river.

Xiangshuiguan Cruise @Ak

Sanmenhai

How to play: Boat tour + hiking. The
area has three skylights, allowing visitors to enter via a natural passage. The boat seems to float in the air, creating a mysterious world where "there is a sea in the mountains and a gate on the sea." This is how the "Three Gates Sea" got its name. You can even hear the sound of dripping water through the photos!

@阿k

A certified product manager who has been to Guangxi 25 times: Sanmenhai is definitely the most amazing and most anticipated place in Guangxi!

The amazing thing is that it seems like you have stepped into the real center of the earth. The blue-green water looks like an overturned jelly sea. This is also the only underwater tiankeng group in the world.

@阿k

We'll arrange a boat exploration: the boat slowly descends into the cave, sunlight streaming through the skylight, creating a fairyland-like experience. A guide will provide a detailed explanation of the geological wonders, and the entire journey takes approximately 40 minutes. During the off-season, the cave is so quiet you can even hear the sound of dripping water, making it an immersive experience!
The most anticipated experience is that entering Sanmenhai Lake depends on luck. Product Manager A K has visited three times; the first time it flooded and the third time it was flooded, making it impossible to enter. Only on the second attempt did he manage to enter, after carefully considering the line.
*From May to July, if heavy rains occur, the water level in Sanmenhai Lake will rise too high before and after rain, preventing boats from entering the scenic area. We will implement Plan B and visit the Bainiaoyan Scenic Area instead.
The scenery at these two locations is similar, but the Bainiaoyan cave is larger and easier to enter, allowing you to experience the boat trip through the cave's skylight.

Bainiao Rock @Ak

In addition to taking a boat, we will also arrange a light hike to the pavilion on the mountain and overlook the Tianchuang Sanmenhai, a perfect drone perspective.

@阿k

Nandan Cave Tianshengjing

How to Play: Cave Exploration + Hiking.
"The temperature inside the cave is low, so even in summer, it's best to bring a light jacket to avoid catching a cold." Seeing this tip, I was so excited! The 10-plus degree icy water was refreshing! There are also canyons, underground rivers, and waterfalls... who can resist a natural, wild, air-conditioned experience in the heat of summer?

@阿k

This is a little-known, off-the-beaten-path spot that's even more stunning in person than in photos! I've seen many caves, and I'm still amazed. The cave is incredibly tall, and following the plank road through the center of the earth, it's like switching back and forth between Interstellar, Avatar, and Ghost Blows Out the Light, bringing the science fiction/tomb-raiding novels to life!

@阿k

🔻Recommended route:

Haokun Lake

How to Play: Paddleboard and hike.
This secluded lake, surrounded by karst peaks, is sometimes called the Guangxi version of Namtso Lake. Under the sun, Haokun Lake's surface resembles a piece of emerald. Hiking along the lakeside offers a chance to catch the same photo opp as Zhang Xinyu.

@阿k

The karst rocky peaks are reflected on the lake surface, as if there is another world under the water.

@阿k

This season, we will also experience paddleboarding here, changing the angle of the Haokun Lake and shuttle across the lake~

@Yearning

Leye Tiankeng

How to Enjoy: Rappelling + Caving + Hiking.
Everyone knows it's cool inside caves, but many people don't dare to take the plunge—that's the biggest drawback of this route. This one definitely makes the list of "uncommon spots that never get crowded during summer or National Day" mentioned at the beginning of this article.

@tina

The truth is, even beginners don't need to worry! You can overcome your fear and have fun!
We've arranged for professional instructors to provide hands-on instruction, emphasizing every detail, from how to put on safety gear to how to position yourself for rappelling and braking techniques. Safety ropes, carabiners, helmets...all gear is professional-grade, and they'll be checked three times before you're allowed to go, ensuring a complete sense of security.

Downhill!

You will get👇🏻

Fengzidang: Ramp down 45 meters in the "One Cave, Three Days" cave, immerse yourself in the secrets of Tyndall, and check in the same cave that appears on the cover of National Geographic China.

Xiongjiadong: Walking through the stalactite forest of the Red Rose Hall amid the roar of the underground river is not a check-in for internet celebrities, but this deep experience of primitiveness is even more shocking.

@tina

Tanjia Tiankeng: Descend 120 meters to the bottom and feel your heart racing as you enter the primeval forest and explore a unique and rare ecosystem. The cave is incredibly photogenic, and everything will be meticulously captured for a truly memorable photo opportunity!

@阿k

This requires courage, but it should not be buried in the world of tourists.

🌟We also offer the "Parent-Child, Wild Guangxi" tour, designed specifically for families with children aged 5-12. The youngest tourists to take part were only 5 years old, full of energy. 🔻Recommended route:

Yangshuo, Guilin

🎈How to Play: Cycling + Via Ferrata + Caving -
Guangzhou Station Staff Team Building Tested It's Fun! A long-established tourist city also has new outdoor activities👇🏻

Experience a dark cave experience, listen to the diverse sounds of the cave, and journey through an icy underground river, all while escaping the summer heat.
Visit the same via ferrata facility used in Wang Yibo's "Exploring New Horizons." Experience the sky ladder, rock face, single-plank bridge, and chain bridge, and the final 80-meter zipline is truly breathtaking!
Our itinerary also features a clever twist! The via ferrata is scheduled in the morning, allowing you to experience the shady rock face without being exposed to the scorching sun.

@curly

🔻Recommended route:

Psychic Canyon

🎈How to play: Light hiking + waterfall viewing.
Once you step into this place, the temperature drops by several degrees. This green kingdom soaked in negative oxygen ions, you can't help but take a few breaths as a tribute.

@Alvin

Over 2,000 rare plant species thrive in a vast sea of green, creating a scene reminiscent of a real-life Jurassic Park.
Their history dates back 180 million years to the Jurassic Period, where they, along with the dinosaurs, witnessed the earth's transformation.

@tina

Take a leisurely hike in the canyon, watch the waterfalls flying and the water gurgling, it is a great place to cool off and escape the summer heat.

⚠Xiaoxia says: Detian Waterfall (bamboo rafting), Mingshi Countryside (bamboo rafting and cycling), and Dongna Island (boat cruise) are all in their peak flood season, and their beauty is at its peak thanks to the summer's anime-style clouds. While these destinations are close to water, the temperatures are slightly higher than those above, making them a great choice for tourists.
