After signing in, we set off on the highway. The team leader led the interaction, introduced himself and explained the itinerary, and we laughed and laughed all the way to our destination.

Around 11:00 AM, we arrived at Sunao Village, the starting point for the hike. Our team leader warmed us up, stretching our muscles and preparing us for the next leg of our ancient trail loop. After about ten minutes, we came upon a towering ancient maple tree, its trunk so tall that four or five people could hug it. Its lush branches and leaves are said to have extended their roots to the stove of a household in Shengzhou. The scenery changed with each step, and the same landscape, with each turn, revealed a different flavor. As we continued along, we watched the white clouds drift by in an ever-changing, captivating scene. In the distance, the Five Hundred Hills stretched out, their forests ablaze with color. Nearby, emerald green pines, yellow wild chrysanthemums, red maple trees, and numerous unusually shaped rocks abounded, creating a breathtakingly beautiful, realistic painting. From above, we could see rolling peaks and tea fields, two reservoirs nestled between the valleys like twin pearls, and scattered villages dotted the landscape. The natural beauty was truly breathtaking.

At around 15:30, we successfully completed the entire hiking loop and returned to the starting point. We then took a bus back to Suzhou.

Around 19:00, we returned to the starting point in Suzhou. Everyone was reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes.

Driving time: 3.5 hours

Hiking: The hiking route is a loop, with a total length of about 14km

Wubaigang lies at the junction of Chongren and Gulai districts in Shengzhou City and Wangtan in Keqiao District. It forms a remnant of the Kuaiji Mountains, forming the northern barrier of the Shengxin Basin and the southern support of Shaoxing City. According to the "Yanlu," Master Daoyou, one of the "Eighteen Eminent Monks" of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, once resided here. Wubaigang is also known as Wulong Mountain, for the Five Dragon Ponds. An ancient poem praises it: "Heaven created the Five Dragon Ponds, whose waterfalls flow through the sky. A thousand peaks and ravines seem to lead nowhere, but the path lies amidst the gurgling waters."
