Day 2: Jiuhua Mountain Circumambulation → Flower Terrace → Roof Terrace → Phoenix Pine
All day
6:40 Prepare breakfast.
Depart for the back mountain of Jiuhua Mountain at 7:00.
Arrive at the back of the mountain around 8:00 AM. After disembarking from the bus, the guide will arrange a shuttle to take you to the starting point. From Liumutian, a small path ascends. Legend has it that Li Bai, Liu Yuxi, and others ascended Mount Jiuhua from this spot, leaving behind many famous works. Around 11:30 AM, you'll reach the 1,297-meter-high Dahuatai. Standing there, the panoramic view will captivate you. The granite peaks rise majestically amidst the mist, resembling a Chinese ink painting. After a quick lunch, you'll continue along the ridgeline, heading towards Xiaohuatai, Liantai Peak, Luohandun, and Yixiantian. The hike continues along the ridgeline, offering expansive views and breathtaking scenery, perfect for stopping and taking photos.
Around 2:00 PM, you'll reach Tiantai Zhengding, offering a bird's-eye view of Mount Jiuhua's main peak. From the rooftop terrace, the Buddhist landscape unfolds before your eyes: curls of incense smoke mingling with the gurgling mountain springs, cascading silver waterfalls, seas of clouds, Buddha's light, and secluded pools—these are the myriad scenic sights that are truly breathtaking. The descent takes about two hours, either on foot or by cable car. We'll then stay at a farmhouse in Qingyang County. After our assigned room, we can explore the surroundings. These are one of China's four famous Buddhist mountains.
At the junction of Dahuatai and Tiantai Scenic Areas, there is a ticket checkpoint. You need to buy your own ticket! The ticket price is 160 yuan!
The bus does not enter the scenic area, so everyone needs to carry their own clothes and toiletries up the mountain. It is recommended to use a large-capacity backpack.
In case of rain or snow, it is recommended that weaker or younger children be accompanied by an adult to enter the scenic area through the main gate and take the cable car.
