Huizhou Hiking | Explore Xiangxi Castle, Hike Along the River, and Visit the Dragon Head Tree

Day 1 Guangzhou → Xiangxi Fort → Guangzhou

We set off on time. The tour guide introduced the itinerary, explained the precautions, and played interactive games with tourists of all ages. We enjoyed singing and laughing all the way to Huizhou.

Arriving at Gongwu Village, you can explore the ruins of the Wuzhai Ancient Castle, feel the traces of time, and see how people lived back then (the village occasionally displays various local specialties, such as hand-woven banana fans, etc.), and feel the atmosphere of life.

Go to a nearby farm to taste delicious farm food (those who do not participate in the group meal can bring their own food), and take a rest after the meal

We set off for the starting point at the Xiangxi River, which can be reached in half an hour. After getting off the bus, we warmed up under the banyan tree and started hiking.

Crossing the fields, passing the ancient village, bamboo forest, and dragon head trees, you can see fishermen on bamboo rafts casting their nets. There is also a carambola orchard nearby (you can enter the orchard to pick, taste, and buy carambola during the carambola season).

Arriving at the destination, everyone boarded the bus back to Guangzhou. We arrived in Guangzhou at around 20:00. Everyone waved and kissed goodbye, and promised to see each other again next time.
