Guangxi Longji Rice Terraces 2-Day Tour

Day 1 Guilin → Ping'an Village → Jinkeng Tiantou Village

All day

9:30-10:00 Depart from the designated location in Guilin City (pick-up and drop-off at hotels within the Second Ring Road of the city)

We set off to Longji Rice Terraces-Ping'an Village

Avoiding the inconvenience of transferring to scenic area shuttles and the trouble of long queues, our car goes directly to the scenic area village, giving you ample time to appreciate this world-famous natural landscape.

We arrived at Ping An Village around noon and walked to the highest point of the Nine Dragons and Five Tigers Observation Deck.

It is magnificent because it looks like a giant dragon marching across a slope four or five miles long.

It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the viewing platform, or you can take a shuttle bus at your own expense for about 30 yuan per person per trip. The viewing time is about 1.5 hours, and you can have a simple lunch at Ping'an Village at noon.

Go to Longji Rice Terraces-Jinkeng Dazhai in due time

Our car can directly reach the Tiantouzhai parking lot, and the hotel is about a 10-minute walk (about 500 meters as the crow flies). In case of road collapse, you will need to walk to the hotel.

In the afternoon, you can learn about the authentic local customs and rice-growing culture and visit the beautiful terraced fields.

You can go to the nearby Observation Deck 1 and 2 on your own.

No. 1 [Xishan Shaole] sunrise viewing point, you can see Maoer Mountain and the highest peak in Longji Scenic Area - Fupingbao. It takes about 0.5 hours to walk from the inn.
No. 2 [Thousand-layer Ladder] sunset viewing point, facing No. 3, takes about 0.5 hours to walk from the inn.

Stay in a homestay in Tiantou Village at night. When night falls, everything becomes quiet in an instant. You can enjoy this rare quiet time.

The rice field harvest date in 2025 is November 2nd, and the autumn viewing period for the terraced fields is from September 27th to November 1st.

Notes: 1. Due to the need for hiking, it is recommended to bring only essential supplies and a change of clothing.
2. During peak season, queues and traffic jams are unpredictable, so the travel time is for reference only.
3. During holidays, traffic is often congested, so the departure time may be advanced.

The Longji Rice Terraces offer a unique landscape each season. In spring, the fields overflow with water, like strings of silver chains hanging from the mountains. At the summer solstice, the vibrant green of the crops resembles waves of green pouring down from the sky. In autumn, the heavy rice stalks resemble golden pagodas and jade palaces. In winter, the snow, heralding a bountiful harvest, resembles rings of white jade rising from the clouds. This spectacle is truly a wonder of the world.
