Shitan is a paradise for photography enthusiasts. It is known as the most beautiful ancient village in the mountains. When autumn comes, maple leaves sway all over the mountains and fields, and the people are simple and honest, and the mountains and rivers are interdependent. Shitan is surrounded by the Chang River. In the season with great temperature differences, the sea of clouds here is surrounded 360 degrees in all directions. Overlooking the entire Shitan, it is truly a paradise on earth in Huizhou.

This 800-year-old village still maintains its vibrant energy, whether it's the curling smoke from cooking fires in the morning or the hard work of farmers at dusk, it gives it a strong sense of life. Walking into this place feels like stepping back through thousands of years. Although dusty and dusty, it still maintains its high spirits!

We set off at the right time, hiking up the mountain along the ancient bluestone path. After about an hour's hike, we arrived at Xiatai Village, where the winding Changyuan River unfolded before us. Surrounded by mountains, the valley was dotted with whitewashed, black-tiled villages of Southern Anhui. Strolling through the valley, visitors could see ancient Hui-style villages with their whitewashed walls and black tiles. Green mountains, clear waters, gray tiles, and white walls – every step brought a new scene, like a painting, a breathtaking beauty. Everyone took photos as they walked, immersing themselves in the breathtaking scene of "people walking in a mirror, birds flying through a screen"! Flower fields cascaded down the hillside, surrounding the ancient villages of Southern Anhui.

Around 6:30 PM, after lunch, it's time for some fun, like playing games like "Kill the Killer" and "Three Kingdoms Kill." Those who can't sleep can gaze up at the stars and chat. On clear nights, photography enthusiasts can also gather together to take photos of the starry sky, the Milky Way, and star trails.

Note: The glorious sunset, sunrise and magnificent sea of clouds at Shitan will surely take our breath away.

Xin'an River, the cradle of ancient Huizhou civilization and the mother river of the people of She County, is a river that flows freely through the mountains. After surging through the towering peaks, the Xin'an River gathers its essence here. The whitewashed, gray-tiled Hui-style buildings are reflected in the lush green mountains and waters of the Xin'an River, creating a natural painting. The rapeseed flowers along the riverbanks add a touch of splendor to the Xin'an River this season.

She County, once the seat of the ancient Huizhou Prefecture, is nestled in the mountainous region of southern Anhui. Mountains act as a barrier, while water is a gateway. The Xin'an River was a golden passage for ancient Huizhou merchants, connecting the "paradise" of Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Yangzhou. The banks of the Xin'an River, a landscape gallery, boast a unique ecological landscape, showcasing high mountain forests, mountain tea, lowland fruit, and aquatic fish. These interspersed elements complement the ancient villages and dwellings with their whitewashed walls and black tiles, creating a breathtaking landscape of green mountains and waterside villages, a scene of breathtaking Chinese landscape painting. Mr. Angruit, a planning expert at the World Tourism Organization, exclaimed after sailing along the Xin'an River, "It's truly beautiful! This is true ecotourism!" Mr. Wu Bihu, a tourism planning expert at Peking University, commented, "The Xin'an River boasts China's unique Hui culture, natural scenery, and the beauty of ancient villages."

Shitan is located in the foothills of the Baiji Mountains. Hidden within the rolling hills are dozens of quaint Huizhou-style villages. Previously, the only access to the outside world was a narrow path, and villagers relied on mules to bring in daily necessities, production materials, and construction materials. Now that the road has been repaired, it has become a famous photography and flower-viewing destination in southern Anhui! Best time for photography: March to April, when spring blossoms cover the mountains, with azaleas, rapeseed, pear, and peach blossoms.
