Day 2 Wucai Beach → Shengtang Catholic Church → Shiluokou
All day
Get up early and head to Wucai Beach to capture the sunrise. Wucai Beach is Weizhou's most scenic sunrise spot, boasting a collection of sea cliffs, platforms, and caves, offering spectacular volcanic sunrises. As the sun rises from the east, the morning light casts a shadow over the layers of volcanic rock and reefs, creating a vibrant contrast against the vibrant colors of the sky and sea, creating a perfect spot for stunning seascapes.
Visit Shengtang Catholic Church to photograph its cultural architecture. A classic example of French Renaissance Gothic architecture, Shengtang Catholic Church is one of the four great Catholic churches of the late Qing Dynasty. The ancient church, untouched by any renovations, is uniquely constructed from coral, rock, and limestone sourced from the island. The surrounding alleys still preserve the original architecture and lifestyle of Weizhou Island, allowing you to experience the slower pace of life on old Weizhou Island. This is a haven for the island's cultural heritage.
In the afternoon, we headed to Shiluokou Beach to photograph the sunset. Located on the western coast of Weizhou Island, Shiluokou Beach boasts clear waters and a wide, thick, soft sand. The setting sun, radiant as cinnabar, dyed the clouds red, cast a purple shadow on the sea, and painted the beach pink, creating a vibrant, dreamlike spectacle.
