Lesser Khingan Mountains in Autumn | Exploring the Secrets of Northeast China

Day 1: All over the country → → Harbin/Jiamusi ★ Gathering day

Today is the gathering day, and tourists from all over the country will go to Jiamusi on their own.

Jiamusi, the fourth largest city in Heilongjiang Province, is located in the heart of the Sanjiang Plain in Northeast China. It enjoys the reputation of "the grain capital of the north". Heixiazi Island in Fuyuan is the place where the first ray of sunshine of the motherland is welcomed.

[Landing in Harbin] It is recommended to take the Harbin/Harbin West-Jiamusi high-speed rail directly, with an average of one train every half hour, a duration of 2.5 hours, and a ticket price of around 120 yuan.

[Landing in Jiamusi] Dongjiao Airport is 9 kilometers from the city center. There is a direct bus and the fare is 10 yuan.

Day 2 Jiamusi → Golden Ancient Town (Golden Pavilion - Longding Mountain overlooking the Longjiang Three Gorges) → G331 Beautiful Border Highway → Tangwang

After breakfast, we will drive to the Golden Ancient Town, and then visit the Gold Museum to learn about the history of gold mining in the Heilongjiang River Basin and the rise and fall of the Taipinggou Golden Ancient Town; climb Longding Mountain to overlook the Heilongjiang Three Gorges. Standing on the Longding Mountain Observation Deck, we can see the rising sun shining through the misty morning fog, casting charming colors on the water. The fog floats over the river, sometimes rising slowly, sometimes rolling forward. The mist-shrouded forest looks like a fairy island in mythology, which is breathtakingly beautiful.


Enjoy a Northeastern cuisine lunch, then drive to Tangwang County. Along the way, we'll travel along the picturesque G331 Border Highway, a rarely traveled route through the vibrant autumn forests of the Lesser Khingan Mountains. We'll continue north along the left bank of the Heilongjiang River, passing numerous border posts, key military locations that guard the hundreds of kilometers of the Heilongjiang border between China and Russia.


Arrive at the hotel in the afternoon, check in, free time and self-catering.

Day 3 Tangwang → Tangwang River Stone Forest (Scenic Area Sightseeing - Hiking) → Xinqing Wetland → Yichun

After breakfast, we will depart for Tangwang River Stone Forest, a national 5A-level scenic spot. The scenic area is rich in tourism resources, with unique advantages in forest and ice and snow resources, and is home to nearly a thousand species of animals and plants. It is characterized by its rare granite stone forest landscape and perfect original ecology. With lush vegetation and verdant mountains, you can stroll through the ancient pines and birch paths, hear the singing of hundreds of birds, watch the dancing of pines and cypresses, smell the fragrance of azaleas, and admire the Xing'an rocks. You will enter a state of returning to nature and harmony between man and nature.

We will then go to the West District and walk an 8km hiking trail. There are few people and beautiful scenery here, so let's enjoy the hiking process.

After the hike, we will drive to Tangwang County.

After lunch, we will drive to Xinqing Wetland, the "Hometown of Chinese Hooded Cranes". The park is rich in wild animal and plant resources and is an important habitat and breeding ground for the world's rare and endangered bird - the Hooded Crane.

Then take a bus to Yichun, arrive at the hotel, check in, and have free time.

Driving distance: 130km, about 1.5 hours

Hiking: about 12km of hiking, about 200m of climbing

Day 4 Yichun → Hiking to Fengyan Village → Jinshan Deer Park → Yichun

After breakfast, we'll drive to Fengyan Village. Upon reaching the starting point, we'll hike through a primeval forest belt, home to towering ancient trees with an average age of 300 years. Walking through untouched areas, the soft, thick pine needles of years old, the fragrant pinewood aroma, and the virgin trees that shade the sky offer a glimpse into the unique, pristine natural landscape of the Lesser Khingan Mountains. Clear rivers, lush forests, pure air, and a vibrant ecosystem create a pristine landscape. This moment, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, allowing us to fully enjoy nature, truly feels like a celestial experience.

After the hike, enjoy the Northeastern specialty iron pot stew

After lunch, we headed to Jinshan Deer Park, a semi-open deer farm surrounded by mountains and offering stunning views. Hundreds of red and sika deer frolic by mountain springs and wander through dense forests. You can buy food to feed the deer, or sit under a tree by a stream to admire the clusters of plum blossoms. It's truly comparable to Nara in Japan, and even better. (If there's a traffic jam, we'll switch to a less crowded route.)

After the tour, we will take a bus to Tieli, arrive at the hotel, check in, have free time and take care of meals at your own expense!

Hiking: about 10km of hiking, about 200m of climbing

Day 5 Yichun → Hike Lesser Khingan Mountains + Picnic → Tieli

After breakfast, we'll depart for a hike in the Lesser Khingan Mountains. Pingdingshan's streams, forests, grotesque rocks, birch trees, pine trees, and grasslands are all unique. The streams and canyons are ablaze with color, the water crystal clear. Jumping down from the rocks, the branches are twisted and tangled, forming a shapeless mass; the trees are sparse and dotted, like ornaments. It's like being transported to a fairyland, where the trees aren't tall, but they're filled with bizarre shapes and forms.

During the hike, we will arrange a picnic at the top of the Lesser Khingan Mountains. We have prepared a simple meal for everyone in advance (sandwiches, yogurt, and fruit to eat during the hike).

In the afternoon, we will take a bus to Tieli City, and the hike in Lesser Khingan Mountains will come to a successful conclusion.

After the hike, we had our celebration dinner. It was the last night for the team members from all over the world to get together and drink and chat happily.

Day 6 Tieli → Harbin ★ Disbandment Day

After breakfast, return to Harbin and disband.
