The hike began on the bluestone-paved ancient trail, passing through bizarre peaks and rocks, cascading waterfalls, and lush bamboo forests. The ancient trail is rarely visited, with moss-covered stones and abandoned earthen houses telling of the passage of time.

Arrive at Yangxin Valley at noon for lunch.

13:00

After lunch, we set off on our journey through the thousand-year-old Torreya grandis forest. Tens of thousands of these trees, standing tall and straight, with lush branches and leaves, intertwined roots, and a myriad of shapes, are a feast for the eyes. The scenery along the way is breathtaking, so take plenty of photos and poses.

This is the [Kingdom of Torreya grandis]. Farmers have made a living by growing Torreya grandis for generations. As the "guardians" of the Torreya grandis king, farmers have taken on the responsibility of protecting the ancient trees. Some ancient trees can be seen everywhere being artificially cultivated. The Torreya grandis fruits that fill the trees year after year are a testimony to the harmonious coexistence of the villagers and the Torreya grandis forest.

At the end of the hike, the Torreya King is quietly waiting for your visit. It is one of the oldest Torreya trees in the world. The tree was planted in 445 AD during the reign of Emperor Wen of the Southern Song Dynasty.

Torreya grandis is an ancient tree species with exceptional vitality, living for hundreds or even thousands of years. Like the ginkgo biloba, it is a long-lived tree. Torreya grandis has very specific environmental requirements for growth, making it extremely rare elsewhere. However, in Zhuji, the hometown of Xi Shi, the towering Jishan Mountain and the flowing Huanshui River create a beautiful landscape that nurtures countless Torreya grandis, a rare fruit. The thousand-year-old Torreya grandis trees here stretch across the mountainside, towering tall, with lush branches and leaves, intertwined roots, and a myriad of shapes and forms, a truly pleasing sight. This forest spectacle is truly a wonder, earning it the nickname "Zhejiang's Most Beautiful Forest."
