Day 1 Shanghai → Jiaokou → Redwood → Shanghai
All day
07:15-07:30 Meet at the designated location of China-TravelNote and sign in. Depart at 07:30 sharp, enjoy onboard interaction and itinerary briefings, and have fun all the way!
We will arrive at the starting point of the hike in Nakamura around 11:30. After a short rest, we will go into the mountains with the tour leader.
Tongjiao Village, at the source of Jiaokou Reservoir, is a great place to admire the vast redwood forest, stretching for several kilometers across the mountains. In late autumn, the leaves turn from yellow to red, scattering across the ground, blanketing the entire forest. The straight trunks stand tall and graceful, dotted with red maple and ginkgo trees, creating a scene reminiscent of an oil painting. This place is truly perfect for taking photos and videos, and every shot is a masterpiece.
A must-see in Ningbo, the Metasequoia Forest offers not only redwoods but also the Reed Marsh, a major attraction. Beside the redwoods, clusters of reeds sway in the wind, creating a breathtaking beauty. Stroll along the lakeside, soaking in the autumn air and occasionally spotting flocks of lambs and soaring egrets. This is the perfect spot for enjoying autumn in Ningbo!
Around 16:00, we gathered at Tongjiao Village, the end of the trip, and boarded the bus, ending our autumn hiking trip.
Around 20:00, we returned to Shanghai. Everyone was reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes!
Reminder: Some sections of the road are closed due to iron gates, and you may need to take a detour via off-road. Please be aware of this and report any concerns carefully!
For the 12.14.15 batch, due to the temporary forest fire prevention control of Jiaokou Reservoir, the itinerary was adjusted to a hike of about 10km and a climb of about 420m. The difficulty of the Jiaokou Reservoir-Zhusilan Ladder-Zhongcun loop hike was increased to 2 stars. There was a total of about 600m of steep slopes on the wild road (no climbing required), so it was impossible to enjoy the reservoir lake view up close, but the autumn colors of Metasequoia were better. Please be advised.
