Arrive at the outer gate of Xiyagou, Wangmangling, at 9:30. You will need to take a shuttle bus to the starting point of the hike (10 yuan per person, at the expense of the guest).
Around 9:50, we arrived at the Xiyagou Ant Ladder, packed our luggage, applied sunscreen, and got ready to go!
Around 10:15, we descended the Ant Staircase, a treacherous path from the top of Chiyan Gorge to the bottom. Due to its steepness and difficulty, it's called the Ant Staircase, a reference to the path ants use. Walking on the Ant Staircase, you're faced with a hundred-foot-deep cliff, and every step is terrifying, requiring extreme caution and careful use of both hands and feet. After descending the Ant Staircase, you can admire the canyon scenery along the path at the bottom. Continuing south along the trail, you'll reach the Henan border. Before the highway was opened, the Ant Staircase served as the only link between Xiyagou and Henan. It's now a popular route for hiking enthusiasts.
Around 12:00 PM, descend to the canyon floor, where water flows year-round. The valley is home to bizarre rock formations, rare flowers and plants, and seven or eight waterfalls. This area, known as the Soul of the Taihang Mountains, boasts picturesque mountains, unique rocks, clear water, lush forests, and secluded pools. The legendary glass-like waters are also found here. If you're not afraid of the cold, enjoy a dip and a refreshing swim.
13:00 After lunch, we set off for Jiulian Mountain Scenic Area. Along the way, we will pass through mountains and clear waters.
Around 15:30, we arrived at Jiulian Mountain Scenic Area and continued along the scenic area.
Arrive at Baligou Scenic Area Visitor Center around 16:00 and take a shuttle bus to the exit of Baligou Scenic Area
Arrived in Zhengzhou around 18:30 and kissed goodbye with tears
