11:00
Arriving at Songpu Mountain in Yiwu, we followed a forested path up the mountainside, shaded by trees and offering a pleasant coolness in the summer. At the mountainside, we encountered towering cliffs, separated only by a few feet. The gorge floor, divided by three massive rocks, featured a waterfall cascading hundreds of meters into the air, creating a breathtaking scene filled with mist. At the gorge's entrance, a Song Dynasty stone carving depicting "Songpuquan Stone" is a popular spot for photo opportunities. While the inscriptions on these Song Dynasty cliff carvings have aged and faded over time, they still convey a profound sense of history.
12:00
As you continue along the plank road, you'll hear the roar of the waterfall grow louder. Passing through a dense forest, the majestic Songpu Mountain Waterfall appears before your eyes! Nearly a hundred meters high, the waterfall cascades down from the mountaintop like an inverted Milky Way, stirring up layers of spray. Standing on the observation deck, surrounded by the cool water vapor, the summer heat instantly dissipates, and every photo you take is a stunning masterpiece.
13:00
The gurgling mountain stream accompanies the hike. When you tire, stop and step into the cool water for a truly relaxing summer retreat. The mountain trail is nestled among dense forests, making it a perfect spot to cool off in the summer. Continue along the stone steps to the summit opposite the waterfall. From there, you'll find a dirt road, traversing a changing forest of bamboo and pine trees. A steeper section of dirt road leads you to the center of Zhejiang Province, a perfect spot to check in at the heart of the region! (Tourists who don't want to hike to the summit can also enjoy the waterfall and the stream below.)
2:00 PM
The steeper downhill dirt road then lets you experience the wildness of hiking! Finally, we come to the Hundred Steps Steep Stone Stairs. The name of the road indicates how steep the Hundred Steps Stone Stairs are.
