Day 1 Nanjing → Hangzhou → Nanjing
07:00
07:00-07:15 We will gather at Exit 1 of Andemen Subway Station
07:15
Depart on time, and the team leader will introduce the activity process and precautions along the way
10:30
Arrive at the Liangzhu Museum (reservations are required in advance through the "Liangzhu Ancient City" official account, between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM). The museum uses a combination of physical objects and technology to systematically showcase the archaeological findings, jade craftsmanship, rice farming, and early state formations of the Liangzhu civilization. We'll
explore the museum's
treasures: the "Cong King" jade cong, a massive jade cong engraved with complete deities, humans, and animals, representing the pinnacle of Liangzhu jade craftsmanship. The "Yue
King" jade axe, a ceremonial jade artifact symbolizing military power, is also featured.
Pottery with carved symbols: some of the symbols on the pottery are believed to be the precursors of Chinese characters.
12:30
After the tour, we will go to Liangzhu Cultural Village, where we can stroll through the village, feel the warmth of history, and experience the poetic resonance between art and daily life.
Meilizhou Church: Designed by Japanese architect Akio Tsushima, the church, with its unique triangular shape and Japanese Zen style, showcases a fusion of tradition and modernity. At first glance, it feels a bit like Edinburgh's fateful feeling!
One-Way Space: (Bigbarn) This bookstore is a very sensible place, often called the "Hangzhou Aranya." It primarily sells books, creative products, and coffee, and offers a seat after purchase. They also occasionally host themed exhibitions.
The Big Roof Library: The Liangzhu Culture and Art Center, a bare concrete building designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando, is nicknamed "The Big Roof" in literary and artistic circles. Stepping inside, the open roof lets in clear sunlight, creating a variety of light and shadow effects from different angles. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, a lush greenery envelopes the mind, instantly reminiscent of "Kikujiro's Summer." Water is also a recurring theme in Ando's works. Descending the large steps and stopping before a tranquil expanse of water, one is greeted by the reflections of the water, pillars, and sunlight, the distant natural scenery, and even the occasional breeze, birdsong, and insect chirping...all of this truly transforms the space into a container of nature. (Admission requires advance reservations through the "Big Roof" mini-program; spots are limited.)
Yu Niao Ji: A trendy shopping district with cultural and creative shops, specialty restaurants, trendy brand stores, and pop-up markets. It's a great place to shop and perfect for a city walk.
4:00 PM
Gather on the bus again, end the tour and return to Nanjing.
7:00 PM
Return to the starting point in Nanjing and disband happily.
