Broadly speaking, this is a train station heading towards Kushiro and Kitami.

Although there are few trains, there are local, rapid and limited express trains.

There were many people taking photos in the station where the sound of diesel trains echoed.

At the station, there is also a face-in panel of Abashiri's tourist attraction, the Abashiri Prison Museum, with the date on it.

There is a bus stop to the Abashiri Prison Museum from in front of the station, so it is convenient if you time it right.

There is also a snowplow unique to Hokkaido Station? You can imagine that the snow has melted with the arrival of spring, but they must have survived the long winter.

Abashiri Station is the starting point of Abashiri tourism and a transportation hub for transferring between trains.

It was a station with a lot of character 😊

There are no restaurants at the station, but there is a beef bowl restaurant and a family restaurant right next to it, although they cannot be seen with the naked eye.

There aren't many shops or restaurants nearby, so why not fill your stomach with something to eat while you're waiting for a long train? 😌
