Visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi
Although it was a foreign land, the kind staff made the experience very pleasant.
Now I understand why landmarks are called landmarks.
Despite the scorching heat reaching nearly 40 degrees, the magnificent beauty of the mosque overshadowed it. While it was a tourist attraction for me, it is a sacred religious site for believers, so I tried to be as solemn and respectful as possible. Definitely one of the places I’d love to revisit leisurely.
These photos are of the exterior. Next time, I’ll share pictures of the interior.
☆Useful Tips I Learned☆
1. Entry is through a massive crystal-like dome building, leading to an underground passage.
2. There’s a mall underground with food vendors and various shops.
3. Entry to the mosque is free, but you need to make an online reservation or get a ticket on-site. This is done after going underground and heading to the right. Tickets are issued via QR code.
4. There are kiosks for renting portable batteries, but they might not work well if the internet connection is weak.
5. There’s a store called "Mugung World," which is a Korean brand. It was very helpful.
6. The Arab traditional clothing shop on the way to the mosque is a retail store, not a rental shop, so be mindful of unexpected budget usage.
7. Pay attention to your attire when entering the mosque, and avoid prohibited hand gestures in front of the mosque.
