Big Almaty Lake Trekking Review – As Amazing as It Is Hidden

The most memorable place during my trip to Almaty is definitely the ‘Big Almaty Lake’.
It is located about an hour and a half by car from the city center, at an altitude of 2,500m, so it is an exciting place to go.

It was a day when vehicle access to the lake was restricted, so I had to get off halfway and do a long trek,
But I had no choice but to keep walking even in the uphill road and the thin air typical of high-altitude areas.
The excitement I felt the first time I saw the lake was indescribable.

The clear emerald lake like a mirror, the snow-covered mountain peaks surrounding it,
And the overwhelming peace that nature gives in the quiet air.

The trekking difficulty is medium-high, so if you are not confident in your physical strength, you can consider taking a car to the middle.
But if possible, I recommend walking up slowly.
Even the process was part of the trip, and the lake felt more beautiful thanks to it.

Big Almaty Lake that turned my heavy steps into emotion. It was a splendid day, standing in the purest scenery that nature has given us.
