#europeonbudget Our trip to the Amalfi Coast was nothing short of magical. My wife, our two small children, and I drove down from Naples and the journey alone was a highlight — a winding, cliffside road with breathtaking panoramas of the Mediterranean at every turn. The scenery felt straight out of a postcard: dramatic cliffs, terraced lemon groves, and sparkling blue water stretching to the horizon.
Positano stole our hearts. The town’s stacked pastel houses, narrow cobblestone alleys, and charming seaside cafés are utterly enchanting — the very kind of sun-drenched Italian village that evokes the setting in Disney’s Luca. Even in winter, with far fewer tourists and a peaceful atmosphere, Positano’s beauty was on full display. We didn’t get to swim, but dipping our feet into the Mediterranean was a wonderful, simple joy that felt like a small, perfect memory.
Positano is wonderfully family-friendly — our kids loved exploring the colorful streets and discovering little shops, and the relaxed pace in winter made everything easy and pleasant. The local food was delicious, and stopping for a warm espresso and pastries while watching the sea was a daily delight.
This is truly a must-see destination. Whether you’re chasing dramatic views, romantic towns, or a relaxed family getaway, the Amalfi Coast — and Positano in particular — is unforgettable.
