Day 1: At 5:00 PM, check-in at the Thai Lion Air international flight counter located at Terminal 1, between gates 7-8, Don Mueang Airport. The counter opens 3 hours before departure and closes 1 hour prior. Flight SL 214 DMK-ATQ requires in-person check-in as online check-in is unavailable for international flights. Boarding pass collection is at 8:00 PM, and the flight departs on time at 8:20 PM, arriving in Amritsar at 11:25 PM. After immigration and customs, taxis are available at standard rates, or Uber can be booked via the app. The fare to the city is approximately 600 INR. For the first night, we stayed at Best Western AH1 Amritsar, just a 20-minute drive from the airport.

Day 2: Start the day with breakfast at Best Western AH1 Amritsar, offering a set menu with Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, Western dishes, and Asian cuisine, accompanied by Indian-style tea or coffee. We then took an Uber to The Partition Museum, located in Amritsar's Town Hall. The museum serves as a repository of stories, materials, and documents related to India's independence. Entry fee for foreigners is 250 INR, and it operates from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily (closed on Mondays, January 26, August 15, and October 2). We spent over 1.5 hours here due to our personal interest in museums. Next, we visited Jallianwala Bagh, a national memorial and public park commemorating a pivotal event in India's independence struggle. Entry is free, and the site features both indoor and outdoor exhibits, including a museum and video presentations. The serene environment is ideal for photography or family picnics. Later, we explored the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib), a sacred Sikh site open 24 hours. Visitors must store bags and shoes in the temple's lockers free of charge and wear a head covering, which can be purchased or borrowed outside the temple. The temple's stunning architecture includes a golden structure surrounded by a marble complex and water. In the evening, we returned to the city via Uber and checked into Best Western Merrion Amritsar, a 4-star hotel near shopping areas. We stayed in a Royal Suite featuring spacious accommodations and a bathtub. The hotel also offers a rooftop pool and bar.

Day 3: Begin the day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel, featuring a wide variety of dishes, including freshly brewed masala chai, Indian cuisine, Western options, fresh fruits, and desserts. We then went shopping at Mall of Amritsar, a large shopping center with numerous brand-name stores. The ongoing grand sale and favorable exchange rate made it a perfect time for shopping. The mall also has a food court offering local and Western fast food options. Alternatively, the Hyatt Regency's restaurant, located adjacent to the mall, provides excellent dining choices. We returned to Best Western AH1 for a day-use stay before our flight back to Thailand. Flight SL 215 departs at 12:25 AM, arriving in Bangkok the next morning.
