[Italy] Capri Island

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip

Capri is a 25-minute high-speed boat ride or a 50-minute ferry ride away from Sorrento.
Capri is famous for the Blue Grotto, but the Blue Grotto tour may be canceled depending on the weather.
On the day I went to Capri, the tour was canceled due to strong winds. .

Since I had time, I decided to go to the Roman Emperor's Villa Jovis.
Villa Jovis is one of the villas of Tiberius, the second Roman Emperor, who controlled the politics of the Roman Empire on Capri.
It's amazing that there was a villa there more than 2000 years ago and that it remains as ruins!

It is located on the top of Mount Tiberio, which is 334 meters above sea level, in the northeast of Capri, so it is about an hour's walk from the center of the Capri district.
I went on a midsummer day, so the hiking trail up the slope was tough!
If you work hard to reach the top, you can see the amazing view that the Roman Emperor must have seen☆
There are many scenic spots on Capri, but this is one that the emperor chose!

I recommend stopping at a cafe along the way to enjoy the view☆

Villa Jovis
Address: Via Tiberio, Capri, Naples, Italy
