Türkiye's Sky Mirror: Lake Tuz (Tuz Gölü)

Lake Tuz (Tuz Gölü) is located in the Anatolian Plateau in central Türkiye. It is the second largest lake in Türkiye and one of the lakes with the highest salinity in the world. "Tuz" means "salt" in Turkish, so Lake Tuz is also called "Salt Lake".

1️⃣ Natural "Sky Mirror"

Every summer, the lake water evaporates in large quantities, forming a layer of white salt crust on the lake surface. The clear lake water reflects the sky, forming an amazing "Sky Mirror" scene. This reflection effect makes people feel like they are in a dreamlike world, similar to the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia.

2️⃣ Ecology and viewing season

Lake Tuz is not only a magnificent natural landscape, but also an important habitat for birds such as flamingos. The best time to visit is summer (June to September), when the lake is shallower and the reflection of the sky is most stunning. In addition, during the annual bird migration season, you can also enjoy the beautiful sight of large numbers of flamingos playing in the lake.

3️⃣ Travel Tips
• Transportation: Lake Tuz is located between Ankara and Konya, and can be reached by car in about 2 hours from Ankara.
• Photography Tips: We recommend choosing sunrise or sunset when the light is soft and the reflections are clearest. Wearing brightly colored clothing can create very artistic photos.
• Note: The salt layer on the lake surface is hard but thin in some areas. Be careful when walking to avoid stepping on it and falling into the lake water.

If you like natural wonders and photography, Lake Tuz is definitely worth a visit!
