I entered the Atatürk Museum in Antkabir alone around 2 PM, and the first thing I noticed upon entering was how well-organized it was! Starting from the main hall, you tour clockwise, so there was absolutely no need to worry about getting lost.
🎯 Guide to Key Attractions
1st Floor Main Exhibition Hall: Atatürk's personal collection was the most interesting. Seeing everyday items he actually used, like fountain pens, watches, and glasses, really made me realize he was a real person, not just a historical figure. His handwriting was so vivid, I lingered for a long time in his notes.
Basement Exhibition Hall: This is the real highlight! The diorama recreating the strategic meeting scene during the War of Independence was incredibly vivid, and the original maps and telegrams used during the war were on display, making it feel like I'd traveled back in time. Haha
💡 Tips for Solo Visitors
There are tablets at the entrances to each section with Korean explanations! Even for those with limited historical background, like me, the explanations were helpful and easy to understand. Perhaps because it was the afternoon, there weren't many visitors, so I was able to take photos and explore at my own pace.
📸 Photography Guide: Photography is prohibited in the personal effects section, but in most areas, you can take photos as long as the flash is turned off. Please be careful!
⏰ Recommended Time: About an hour is sufficient for the entire visit, but if you're really interested in history, plan on spending an hour and a half!
🚇 Practical Information
Admission: Free (passport or ID required)
2-4 PM is the quietest time of day, making it a perfect time to visit alone.
The museum is air-conditioned, making it a great way to escape the summer heat. 😊
