Anshan Travel Guide|This small city in Northeast China hides so many amazing spots! You’ll regret it for a lifetime if you don’t go!
Girls! Today I want to recommend a seriously underrated treasure travel destination—Anshan! As a native Northeasterner, I have to say Anshan is so! Much! Fun! It will totally shatter your stereotypes about industrial cities in the Northeast! Here’s a detailed three-day, two-night guide to help you explore Anshan without any pitfalls~
Day 1⃣️: Must-visit Qianshan Scenic Area! ⛳️
Head straight to Qianshan Scenic Area at 8 AM! This is the top mountain in Northeast China! Tickets are only 80 RMB, super worth it! I recommend taking the cable car up (one way 50 RMB), the scenery along the way is breathtaking! Don’t miss the Fairy Platform at the summit, 🍀 standing there overlooking all of Anshan, you’ll feel like a true fairy! For lunch, enjoy authentic Northeastern dishes at a farmhouse restaurant at the foot of the mountain—Guobaorou (sweet and sour pork) and Di San Xian (three fresh vegetables) are absolutely delicious!
In the afternoon, visit the Qianshan Giant Buddha, the largest stone sitting Buddha in Asia! ✨ It’s so stunning you’ll be speechless! Remember to wear comfortable shoes because you’ll climb 999 steps (don’t worry, there are resting platforms). At sunset, go to 219 Park to watch the sunset—the lake and mountains with the evening glow make for perfect photos! 👍
Day 2⃣️: Hot Springs + Steel Culture Day Tour
🫰 Sleep in and then head to Tanggangzi Hot Springs! One of the best hot springs in Northeast China! Your skin will be silky smooth after soaking~ Tickets are 128 RMB including lunch, great value! In the afternoon, visit the Ansteel Museum to experience the steel spirit of the “eldest son of the Republic” (free admission!). At night, you must visit the Station Front Night Market! Grilled cold noodles, fried skewers, grilled chicken racks... everything is so delicious it’ll make you cry! About 30 RMB per person to eat until you’re full!
Day 3⃣️: 🍱 Jade Buddha Garden + City Food Tour
On the last day, visit the Jade Buddha Garden! The world’s largest jade Buddha is here! Its entire body is emerald green and absolutely stunning! Tickets are 70 RMB, and be sure to hire a guide (30 RMB) to learn the story behind it. For lunch, go to Jingzi Street Snack Street and try Lao Siji Hand-Pulled Noodles, only 5 RMB a bowl and incredibly tasty! In the afternoon, stroll around Silong Square for some shopping—Anshan’s prices are really friendly! 🫶
Accommodation Recommendations: 🏠
If your budget allows, choose Qianshan Hot Spring Hotel (400+ RMB/night). If you want to save money, stay at Home Inn near the station (150+ RMB/night), super convenient for transportation!
🚙 Transportation Tips:
There’s a direct bus from Shenyang Airport to Anshan (2 hours). Taxi starting fare in the city is 6 RMB, and there are plenty of bus routes! 🥹🥹
Avoid Pitfalls:
1. Don’t wear high heels at Qianshan! Don’t ask me how I know😭
2. If you come in winter, bring a down jacket—minus 20 degrees is no joke!
3. Buy jade from official stores, street vendors can be risky!
Cost Reference:
800 RMB per person for three days and two nights is enough! Includes all food, accommodation, and transportation! Students can easily manage!
Anshan really surprised me so much! It has magnificent natural scenery, rich cultural heritage, and most importantly, very affordable prices! Girls, go for it! You’ll regret missing this treasure city!
