Beaches, Trails, and Sunset Magic: Exploring Ao Nang and Krabi 🇹🇭 🏝️

Ao Nang Beach is the perfect beach getaway in Krabi. The waterfront is very lively, boasting many bars, restaurants, and a big night market. During the day, it’s easy to enjoy excursions to nearby islands or secluded beaches. Here are my recommendations for a 4 day stay in Ao Nang.

1️⃣ Walk the Monkey Trail

Take the short but scenic Monkey Trail, a wooden path that winds along the cliffs and leads to a quieter, hidden beach. Along the way you’ll see many monkeys cross your path or hanging in the trees. It’s safe to walk by the monkeys but keep your valuables hidden!

2️⃣ Kayak at Klong Root

Head to Klong Root for a tranquil kayaking adventure. The waters in the mangrove canals are calm and clear making it a very safe kayaking spot. The area was recently used as a filming location in the new Jurassic World Movie making it a popular spot for photography! Kayaking can be done via a guided tour, but I recommend taking a taxi and hiring the kayak yourself to save money!

3️⃣ Island Hopping

Chicken Island, Poda Island, and Thale Waek are some of the most beautiful locations in Krabi. Hire a long-tale boat or join the Seven Islands Sunset Tour to visit these iconic spots. If you take a tour, it will include two snorkeling stops where you can swim in the crystal clear waters. You’ll also enjoy a sunset BBQ before night snorkeling to observe the bioluminescent plankton!

🏨 Where to Stay: Marina Express - Fisherman Ao Nang is a quaint hotel minutes from Ao Nang Beach. The staff are very pleasant and the clean rooms come with a balcony. The pool downstairs is perfect for cooling off during the hot weather!

🦞 Where to Eat:
🦀 Family Thaifood and Seafood
🍚 May & Zin Restaurant
🍜 Aree Baba
🫓 Larb Koi Roi Et
