🌊 Hidden Coastal Charm – Aomori Ekimae Beach

Tucked beneath the striking Aomori Bay Bridge, Aomori Ekimae Beach was a pleasant surprise during our visit. It’s not a sprawling coastline, but this compact beach offers a peaceful spot to unwind right in the heart of the city. The highlight? A large “AOMORI” sign that’s perfect for tourist photos — a thoughtful and Instagram-worthy touch that we really appreciated.

While my family spent time exploring A-FACTORY next door (a fantastic place for apple-themed souvenirs), I took a quiet stroll along the beach. The setting was serene, with scenic views of the harbor and a refreshing sea breeze. Just beside the beach is the Seikan Train Ferry Memorial Ship Hakkōda-maru, so it’s easy to combine sightseeing, shopping, and a little relaxation in one stop.

Parking was conveniently located right at the entrance, which made it an effortless visit, especially for those on a road trip. Whether you want a breather from shopping, a scenic photo op, or a peaceful coastal moment — this beach delivers in a simple, charming way.
