Asakusashoten, a Family-Style Ramen Shop in Asakusa

When visiting Asakusa, besides touring Senso-ji Temple, you must also try the local ramen. Despite its name, Asakusashoten might sound like a souvenir shop, but it is actually a traditional ramen restaurant.

Upon entering, as usual, you select your food from the vending machine at the entrance. The machine offers several languages and includes pictures, so you don’t have to worry about not understanding. After choosing, take the ramen ticket and find a seat. A chef will come to collect your ticket. The interior space is not very large, giving a slightly cramped feeling, but it’s still acceptable. The ramen broth is rich, the chashu pork is evenly thick and thin, and you can choose the firmness of the noodles. There are many condiments on the table to add extra flavor. Overall, it’s very delicious.
