โจ Highlights
Located on a hill at an elevation of approximately 845 meters, this site features a collection of over 300 large and small stones.
Some of the stones are named, such as "Mirror Stone," "Scissor Stone," "Altar Stone," and "Sun Stone." There are even theories suggesting ancient Sumerian script inscriptions on the stones (though some opinions dispute this).
The stones are said to exhibit magnetic anomalies, causing compass needles to behave erratically, attracting visitors seeking "mysterious experiences."
From the top of the hill, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view, including sights of the Aso Five Peaks, the outer rim of the caldera, and the surrounding grasslands.
The site has also been used as a filming location for movies and TV shows, such as the live-action adaptation of "Attack on Titan."
