I stopped by Toraya Karyo, a serene sweets café in Akasaka, Tokyo, where tradition and modern design blend beautifully.

The space is breathtaking — with a fan-shaped wooden ceiling and warm interior design that reflects the refined legacy of this long-established wagashi maker. You truly feel the dignity and grace of Japanese culture as soon as you step inside.

I ordered their petite Anmitsu, a classic Japanese dessert.
It was the perfect size for a light treat — delicate and just sweet enough to enjoy every spoonful.

If you’re in the area, I also recommend visiting Toyokawa Inari Tokyo Betsuin, a peaceful temple just around the corner.
