Cappadocia, including Goreme, is a really good place to drive.
In the past, I rented a car and enjoyed driving, but this time, I rode a bicycle and it was a little difficult, but the wide open background of Cappadocia and the green meadows that appear when you pass the rocky mountains create another spectacular view.
Avanos is a bit of an urban area and the prices are a little cheaper, so it might be a good idea to try some good restaurants.
