This historic shrine has also appeared in literary history. It's known as the "Shrine of Resurrection," having recovered from numerous disasters, including floods, air raids, and the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. The shrine's enshrined deity, Wakahirume-no-Mikoto, is said to be the goddess of weaving. It's said that just as weaving threads brings people together, many couples have held Shinto weddings here since before the war. It's so beautiful!
The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge spans the Akashi Strait between Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and Awaji Island. At 3,911 meters long, it's one of the world's largest suspension bridges, earning it the nickname "Pearl Bridge."
The bridge was also beautiful at sunset.
