[Awaji Island] Izanagi Shrine

This shrine is a hot topic in Japan as the most powerful spot on Awaji Island. It is famous as the oldest shrine that enshrines the first married couple of gods in Japan, "Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto," and you can see a magnificent married camphor tree that is over 900 years old. It is revered for marital harmony, good relationships, and prosperity of descendants. There is a free parking lot on the shrine grounds, and I was able to park without lining up on weekdays. It seems that many celebrities and professional baseball players from Awaji Island have visited.
