In Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, there is a local gourmet food developed using apples, which is served in several stores in the city.
It's called 'Apple Napolitan'.
The condition for Apple Napolitan seems to be the use of 'Azumino-produced apples', and each store utilizes the fruit in various ways, such as using the flesh as is, or in the form of jam or juice.
At Misato-san, they used shredded raw apples.
It might be a little hard to tell from the photo, but cinnamon is also sprinkled on top.
They recommend mixing it well before eating, so when I tried mixing the raw apples with ketchup and bacon, the sweetness and acidity of the apples, the aroma of cinnamon, and the saltiness of the bacon matched exquisitely, and it was very delicious.
Apparently, it has enough prowess to have participated in the Napolitan Grand Prix in 2017, and the taste was convincing.
It was a dish that matched very well with my love for apples and sweet things.
Of course, there are other items on the menu besides 'Apple Napolitan', and the restaurant had a lively atmosphere with many decorations such as aquariums, comics, and toys.
