The Heydar Aliyev Center is one of the most famous buildings in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Also known as the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, it's named after the former president and serves as a venue for international conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and more.
Designed by Zaha Hadid, who is famous for designing the New National Stadium for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, it features elegant, curvaceous walls against pure white walls.
What's more, when viewed from above, it's said to resemble the signature of former President Heydar Aliyev.
In front of the center is a green lawn plaza, a popular spot for public relaxation.
It also features unique outdoor contemporary art exhibits.
At the time, police had suddenly cordoned off the building, apparently due to an important meeting or VIP presence, and the general public was unable to get close. This seems to happen from time to time.
