Pura Toya Yeh Bubuh in Banjar Dinas Petiga Kangin,

Pura Toya Yeh Bubuh in Banjar Dinas Petiga Kangin, Marga, Tabanan. This temple is often used as a meditation place by spiritual practitioners. Behind this temple, there are two palinggih, and to the west, there is a waterfall.
.
The Toya Bubuh waterfall is different from typical waterfalls because it is located underground, and beneath it is a lagoon believed to be guarded by a supernatural creature in the form of a julit fish or giant eel, which is the mount of Ida Bhatara who resides in this temple. In the pool, several julit fish live in their real form and are considered sacred. On certain days, especially during Bali’s holy days, more than two julit fish appear. For those with a sixth sense, the julit here are colorful, not just black. It is said that locals come here to pray for remedies for itchy skin diseases.
.
Jero Mangku Pura Toya Yeh Bubuh, I Nyoman Suparta, added that in the Paliwet Tatwa chronicle, it is explained that the julit and the name Toya Bubuh come from a water source on the slopes of the Petiga forest. At that time, the Badung Kingdom attacked the Mengwi Kingdom. Soldiers from the Mengwi Kingdom fled to Petiga. One of the figures from Mengwi, Ki Gede Dalem Sekalan, along with his family and followers, fled while being chased by Badung soldiers until they reached the edge of the Yeh Sungi River, which was experiencing a flash flood.
.
The rain did not stop while the enemies’ shouts grew louder, chasing Pasek Sekalan. Suddenly, an object resembling a tree trunk floated down from the north and got stuck in front of them. The object was then used to cross the Yeh Sungi River. After everyone crossed, the tree trunk moved and turned out to be a giant julit fish sent to help Ki Gede.
.
Ki Gede Sekalan managed to escape from the Badung Kingdom’s troops. After arriving in the Petiga forest, he found a waterfall. After drinking its water, he felt as if he had eaten rice with side dishes, so the waterfall was named Toya Bubuh. “Toya” means water, while “bubuh” means to add seasoning.
