Alila Ubud hotel is located on a hill, surrounded by nature.

The hotel’s breakfast buffet lets us indulge in authentic Balinese-style Indonesian food, with an atmosphere surrounded by lush green forest. The ingredients used in cooking focus on healthy & organic. Before having breakfast, the staff took us on a nature tour. We walked through the vegetable garden, herb planting plots, banana plantations, and the hotel’s farm. So we are confident that eating here is not only delicious but also good for health. We went all out and were full until dinner.

Balinese food is not very different from Thai food. They use some spices that might be unfamiliar or some that are similar to Southern Thai cuisine. The flavors are mild and to our liking. We liked the hotel’s mi goreng; it was fragrant and delicious, served with their chili paste, which is somewhat like nam prik ong and nam prik num, but not too spicy.
