Broken Beach Travel Guide

Highlights

Broken Beach is located on the west coast of Nusa Penida Island, Indonesia. It is a natural sea arch wonder formed by volcanic crust movements. The arch is about 20 meters high, with seawater flowing through it to form a circular lagoon surrounded by cliffs, creating a magnificent view known as the "Eye of the Sea God." Although swimming is not suitable here, you may spot dolphins jumping out of the water in the early morning or evening, making it an excellent spot for photography and sightseeing.

Practical Information

• Transportation: Take a speedboat from Sanur Port in Bali to Nusa Penida Island in about 40 minutes. From the pier, it takes about 20-30 minutes by car to the attraction. Renting a car or hiring a driver is recommended.

• Opening Hours: Open all day, free admission.

• Best Time to Visit: Early morning from 6:00 to 9:00 or evening from 16:00 to 18:00, when the light is soft and there are fewer tourists.

Tips for Experience

• Wear non-slip shoes; there are no guardrails on the cliff edges, so be careful when taking photos.

• Nearby attractions like Angel’s Billabong and Fairy’s Cliff can be visited on the same day; Angel’s Billabong is a 5-minute walk away.

• Dining options on the island are limited; it is recommended to bring a simple meal or choose Crystal Bay Beach Club.
